²⁰ For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

¹² I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

²³ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. ²⁴ And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁵ When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

¹⁰ And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.

²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁶ And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

⁶⁰ Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

³⁵ Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? ³⁶ What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

¹² And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

¹⁷ Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

¹⁸ For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

²³ But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹¹ Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

⁴ Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
