²¹ Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: to where I go, you cannot come.

³⁹ For I say unto you, You shall not see me henceforth, till you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

²³ Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. ²⁴ For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

⁴¹ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

²² And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; ²³ And in hell he lifts up his eyes, being in torment, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. ²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented. ²⁶ And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from there.

³⁴ You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, to there you cannot come.

²⁴ I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins.

³³ This he said, signifying what death he should die.

³⁵ Then Jesus said unto them, yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not to where he goes.

³³ Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Where I go, you cannot come; so now I say to you.

¹⁷ And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; you are yet in your sins. ¹⁸ Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
