¹¹ He has said in his heart, God has forgotten: he hides his face; he will never see it.

¹³ And you say, How does God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? ¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he sees not; and he walks in the circle of heaven.

⁶ He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who shall see them?

¹¹ And they say, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

⁷ Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

¹¹ Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. ¹² Then said he unto me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his idols? for they say, The LORD sees us not; the LORD has forsaken the land.

⁹ Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD sees not.

⁶ But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

³⁹ Now when the Pharisee who had bidden him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touches him: for she is a sinner.
