³¹ Envy you not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

¹ [A Psalm of David.] Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be you envious of the workers of iniquity.

⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. ⁸ Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself in any way to do evil. ⁹ For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

³ For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

¹⁵ My son, walk not in the way with them; refrain your foot from their path: ¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. ¹⁸ And they lie in wait for their own blood; they lurk secretly for their own lives.

¹² To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things; ¹³ Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; ¹⁴ Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of the wicked; ¹⁵ Whose ways are crooked, and who are perverse in their paths:

¹² The wicked desires the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yields fruit.

²² Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: ²³ For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. ²⁴ Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall not go: ²⁵ Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.

¹⁷ Let not your heart envy sinners: but be in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

¹ Be not envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

¹⁹ Fret not yourself because of evil men, neither be you envious at the wicked; ²⁰ For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

⁸ If you see the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of justice and righteousness in a province, marvel not at the matter: for the high official is watched by a higher one; and there are yet higher ones over them.

²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
