¹⁸ And you shall make two cherubim of gold, of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat.

³¹ And you shall make a lampstand of pure gold: of hammered work shall the lampstand be made: its shaft, and its branches, its bowls, its knobs, and its flowers, shall be of the same one piece.

⁷ But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.

¹³ However there were not made for the house of the LORD basins of silver, snuffers, bowls, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:

¹² Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and lyres and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

³ Blow the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

¹⁵ Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of your countenance.

¹³ Bring no more vain offerings; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

¹ Set the trumpet to your mouth. He shall come as an eagle over the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

¹⁴ Sanctify you a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD.

⁵ One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

⁵ Declare you in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow you the trumpet in the land: cry, Gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the fortified cities.

¹⁵ Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: ¹⁶ Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that nurse: let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride out of her chamber.

²¹ Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

² That the leaders of Israel, heads of the house of their fathers, who were the leaders of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered, offered:

¹⁵ So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

³ And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah encamp according to their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. ⁴ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred. ⁵ And those that do encamp next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and Nethanel the son of Zuar shall be captain of the children of Issachar. ⁶ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred. ⁷ Then the tribe of Zebulun: and Eliab the son of Helon shall be captain of the children of Zebulun. ⁸ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred. ⁹ All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were a hundred and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, according to their armies. These shall first set forth.

⁶ When you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. ⁷ But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.

³ And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. ⁴ And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the leaders, who are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto you.

⁶ And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

⁴ And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. ⁵ And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. ⁶ And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD. ⁷ And he said unto the people, Pass on, and march around the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD. ⁸ And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. ⁹ And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rear guard came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets. ¹⁰ And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, you shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall you shout. ¹¹ So the ark of the LORD circled the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp. ¹² And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. ¹³ And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rear guard came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets. ¹⁴ And the second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days. ¹⁵ And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they marched around the city seven times. ¹⁶ And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD has given you the city.

²⁴ And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

⁶ Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests blew trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

¹² And, behold, God himself is with us as our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight not against the LORD God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper. ¹³ But Jeroboam sent an ambush to come around behind them: so they were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them. ¹⁴ And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. ¹⁵ Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God defeated Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

¹ And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided;

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

¹⁸ And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for the LORD had compassion because of their groanings because of them that oppressed them and vexed them.

²⁷ And it came to pass, when he had come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he was before them.

² And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth of the nations. ³ And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and for twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

⁹ And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave you their land;

³⁴ But the spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.

⁸ And that year they harassed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

¹² The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and you cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.

¹⁸ And said unto the children of Israel, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you.

¹⁴ And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

⁴ Remember me, O LORD, with the favor that you bear unto your people: O visit me with your salvation;

⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

²³ Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endures forever:

³ All you inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see, when he lifts up a banner on the mountains; and when he blows a trumpet, hear.

¹⁹ My soul, my soul! I am pained at my very heart; my heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

²¹ How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

¹ O you children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a signal of fire in Beth-haccherem: for evil appears out of the north, and great destruction.

¹⁷ Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

¹⁴ They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goes to the battle: for my wrath is upon all their multitude.

³ If when he sees the sword come upon the land, he blows the trumpet, and warns the people; ⁴ Then whosoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and takes not warning; if the sword comes, and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. ⁵ He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. ⁸ Blow the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, beware, O Benjamin.

⁶ Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be calamity in a city, and the LORD has not done it?

¹⁶ A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities, and against the high towers.

⁷⁰ As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began: ⁷¹ That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; ⁷² To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; ⁷³ The oath which he swore to our father Abraham, ⁷⁴ That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

⁸ For if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for the battle?

²⁹ And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goes in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.

¹⁶ And you shall take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of meeting; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

²⁴ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

⁹ Then shall you cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, on the day of atonement shall you make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. ¹⁰ And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and you shall return every man unto his possession, and you shall return every man unto his family.

¹ And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no regular work: it is unto you a day of blowing the trumpets.

⁷ Then you shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel forever.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making music with lyres and harps.

⁴² And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.

⁶ And the priests stood at their posts: the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endures forever, whenever David offered praise by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets opposite them, and all Israel stood.

²⁶ And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

²⁸ And all the congregation worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

¹⁰ And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel.

³⁵ And certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:

⁵ Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. ⁶ With trumpets and the sound of a horn make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.

³ Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the lute and harp.

¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

¹ Ho, everyone that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no money; come you, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness. ³ Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. ⁴ Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

²⁸ Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

⁴ And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Your prayers and your alms are come up for a memorial before God.

²⁴ And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. ²⁵ After the same manner also he took the cup, after he had eaten, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do you, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. ²⁶ For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till he comes.

⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

¹⁶ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁷ And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel encamped their tents. ¹⁸ At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they encamped: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents. ¹⁹ And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not. ²⁰ And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed. ²¹ And so it was, when the cloud abode from evening until the morning, and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed. ²² Or whether it was two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed. ²³ At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

²¹ And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

²⁰ And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

¹ In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. ² For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

³⁶ And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: ³⁷ But if the cloud was not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

¹⁶ And afterward the people set out from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.

³ And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

²⁶ And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.

¹⁵ And they departed from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai. ¹⁶ And they set out from the desert of Sinai, and encamped at Kibrothhattaavah.

¹ These are the words which Moses spoke unto all Israel on this side of Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

¹⁹ And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which you saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadeshbarnea.

² And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

¹ And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented over him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.

³ God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

²³ At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

⁶ The LORD our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying, You have dwelt long enough in this mount:

⁸ Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise: your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father's children shall bow down before you.

⁷ Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

¹² And he that offered his offering the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah:

¹⁹ The sons of Judah were Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. ²⁰ And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Perez, the family of the Perezites: of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites. ²¹ And the sons of Perez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites. ²² These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, three score and sixteen thousand and five hundred. ²³ Of the sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Puvah, the family of the Punites: ²⁴ Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites. ²⁵ These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, three score and four thousand and three hundred. ²⁶ Of the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites. ²⁷ These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, three score thousand and five hundred.

⁸ Of Issachar; Nethanel the son of Zuar.

¹⁸ On the second day Nethanel the son of Zuar, leader of Issachar, did offer:

⁹ Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.

²⁴ On the third day Eliab the son of Helon, leader of the children of Zebulun, did offer:

⁵¹ And when the tabernacle moves forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be encamped, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

²⁵ And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of meeting shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of meeting. ²⁶ And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.

³⁶ And under the appointed duty of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the utensils thereof, and all that pertains to them, ³⁷ And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.

²¹ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, ²² Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families; ²³ From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shall you number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting. ²⁴ This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and to carry burdens: ²⁵ And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of meeting, its covering, and the covering of the badger skins that is on it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of meeting, ²⁶ And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve. ²⁷ At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and you shall appoint unto them the task of all their burdens. ²⁸ This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of meeting: and their work shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. ²⁹ As for the sons of Merari, you shall number them after their families, by the house of their fathers; ³⁰ From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shall you number them, every one that enters into the service, to do the work of the tabernacle of meeting. ³¹ And this is the task of their burdens, according to all their service in the tabernacle of meeting; the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, ³² And the pillars round about the court, and their sockets, and their pegs, and their cords, with all their furnishings, and with all their service: and by name you shall reckon the objects of the charge of their burdens. ³³ This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

⁶ And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them unto the Levites. ⁷ Two wagons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service: ⁸ And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

¹¹ But Christ being come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

²⁸ Therefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

¹⁴ Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ has showed me.

⁵ And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.

³⁵ And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Elizur the son of Shedeur.

⁵ Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites: ⁶ Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites. ⁷ These are the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty. ⁸ And the sons of Pallu; Eliab. ⁹ And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, who were representatives of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD: ¹⁰ And the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign. ¹¹ Nevertheless the children of Korah died not. ¹² The sons of Simeon according to their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites: ¹³ Of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites. ¹⁴ These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred. ¹⁵ The children of Gad according to their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites: ¹⁶ Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites: ¹⁷ Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites. ¹⁸ These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

⁶ Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

³⁶ On the fifth day Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, leader of the children of Simeon, did offer:

¹⁴ Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

¹⁴ Then the tribe of Gad: and the captain of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

⁴² On the sixth day Eliasaph the son of Deuel, leader of the children of Gad, offered:

¹⁷ Then the tabernacle of meeting shall move forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they encamp, so shall they move forward, every man in his place by their standards.

²⁷ And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites. ²⁸ In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping charge of the sanctuary. ²⁹ The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle to the south. ³⁰ And the head of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. ³¹ And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the lampstand, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof. ³² And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be head over the leaders of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

⁴ This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of meeting, about the most holy things: ⁵ And when the camp moves forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering veil, and cover the ark of testimony with it: ⁶ And shall put thereon the covering of badger skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in its poles. ⁷ And upon the table of showbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover them: and the showbread shall be on it: ⁸ And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with a covering of badger skins, and shall put in its poles. ⁹ And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the lampstand of the light, and its lamps, and its wick trimmers, and its trays, and all the oil vessels thereof, with which they minister unto it: ¹⁰ And they shall put it and all the utensils thereof within a covering of badger skins, and shall put it upon a carrying beam. ¹¹ And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badger skins, and shall put in its poles: ¹² And they shall take all the instruments of ministry, with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badger skins, and shall put them on a carrying beam: ¹³ And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth on it: ¹⁴ And they shall put upon it all its utensils, with which they minister about it, even the fire pans, the forks, and the shovels, and the basins, all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badger skins, and put in its poles. ¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, as the camp is to move forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of meeting. ¹⁶ And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertains the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily grain offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that is therein, in the sanctuary, and in the utensils thereof.

²⁰ But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.

⁹ But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear them upon their shoulders.

¹⁷ And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari moved forward, bearing the tabernacle.

² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them has the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him forever.

¹² And said unto them, You are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites: Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brethren, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it. ¹³ For because you did it not at the first, the LORD our God broke forth upon us, for we sought him not about the proper order. ¹⁴ So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel. ¹⁵ And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the its poles, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

¹⁹ And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.

¹⁰ Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

¹⁸ On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud. ¹⁹ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred. ²⁰ And by him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: and the captain of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. ²¹ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred. ²² Then the tribe of Benjamin: and the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni. ²³ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred. ²⁴ All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were a hundred and eight thousand and a hundred, according to their armies. And they shall go forward third.

⁴⁸ On the seventh day Elishama the son of Ammihud, leader of the children of Ephraim, offered:

²³ Of the sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Puvah, the family of the Punites: ²⁴ Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites. ²⁵ These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, three score and four thousand and three hundred. ²⁶ Of the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites. ²⁷ These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, three score thousand and five hundred. ²⁸ The sons of Joseph according to their families were Manasseh and Ephraim. ²⁹ Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead come the family of the Gileadites. ³⁰ These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites: ³¹ And of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites: ³² And of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites. ³³ And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. ³⁴ These are the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred. ³⁵ These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites: of Becher, the family of the Becherites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites. ³⁶ And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites. ³⁷ These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families. ³⁸ The sons of Benjamin according to their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites: ³⁹ Of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites. ⁴⁰ And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites: and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites. ⁴¹ These are the sons of Benjamin according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.

⁵⁴ On the eighth day offered Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, leader of the children of Manasseh:

¹¹ Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.

⁶⁰ On the ninth day Abidan the son of Gideoni, leader of the children of Benjamin, offered:

¹⁶ Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁷ Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse’s heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

¹² Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

²⁵ The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: and the captain of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. ²⁶ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred. ²⁷ And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher: and the captain of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran. ²⁸ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and one thousand and five hundred. ²⁹ Then the tribe of Naphtali: and the captain of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan. ³⁰ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred. ³¹ All they that were numbered in the camp of Dan were a hundred and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They shall go last with their standards.

⁶⁶ On the tenth day Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai, leader of the children of Dan, offered:

⁴² These are the sons of Dan according to their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan according to their families. ⁴³ All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were three score and four thousand and four hundred. ⁴⁴ Of the children of Asher according to their families: of Imna, the family of the Imnites: of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites. ⁴⁵ Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites. ⁴⁶ And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah. ⁴⁷ These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them; who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred. ⁴⁸ Of the sons of Naphtali according to their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites: ⁴⁹ Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites. ⁵⁰ These are the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred. ⁵¹ These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.

¹⁷ Remember what Amalek did unto you by the way, when you came forth out of Egypt; ¹⁸ How he met you by the way, and attacked those behind you, even all that were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he feared not God.

⁹ And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rear guard came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.

¹² For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

⁸ Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

¹³ Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.

⁷² On the eleventh day Pagiel the son of Ocran, leader of the children of Asher, offered:

¹⁵ Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.

⁷⁸ On the twelfth day Ahira the son of Enan, leader of the children of Naphtali, offered:

³⁴ And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses: so they encamped by their standards, and so they moved forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers.

³⁵ And it came to pass, when the ark moved forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let your enemies be scattered; and let them that hate you flee before you. ³⁶ And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel.

⁴ He has said, who heard the words of God, who saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: ⁵ How lovely are your tents, O Jacob, and your tabernacles, O Israel!

¹⁰ Who is she that looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and awesome as an army with banners?

³³ For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

⁴⁰ Let all things be done decently and in order.

⁵ For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

⁷ And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto your descendants will I give this land: and there built he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

¹⁵ For all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your descendants forever.

¹⁸ In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your descendants have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

¹² And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

¹⁸ And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that you are come so soon today?

¹ Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the west side of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and large land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

⁷ And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. ⁸ And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am the LORD.

¹ When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;

²⁷ And Moses let his father-in-law depart; and he went his way into his own land.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

¹⁶ And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father-in-law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lies to the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.

¹¹ Now Heber the Kenite, who was of the children of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent as far as the oak of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

⁶ And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for you showed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

⁸ O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.

³ And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

⁵ They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces toward it, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

²¹ And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also. ²² Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. ²³ Thus says the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold, out of every language of the nations, even shall take hold of the robe of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

⁵ And he gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him, when as yet he had no child.

² In hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages began;

¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in that it was impossible for God to lie, we might have strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

¹ Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you:

³⁰ And now, though you would wish to be gone, because you greatly longed after your father's house, yet why have you stolen my gods?

¹⁵ And she said, Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return you after your sister-in-law. ¹⁶ And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave you, or to return from following after you: for where you go, I will go; and where you lodge, I will lodge: your people shall be my people, and your God my God: ¹⁷ Where you die, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.

¹⁰ Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father's house;

²⁹ He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

²⁶ If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

¹⁶ Therefore from now on know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet from now on know we him no more.

⁸ By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should later receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing where he went.

¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

⁸ I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye.

¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many. ¹⁵ If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁶ And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? ¹⁸ But now has God set the members every one of them in the body, as it has pleased him. ¹⁹ And if they were all one member, where would be the body? ²⁰ But now are they many members, yet but one body. ²¹ And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of you: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

² Bear you one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

¹⁸ He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and clothing.

²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before you. ²⁸ For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations. ²⁹ All the prosperous of earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. ³⁰ A posterity shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. ³¹ They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he has done this.

⁵ Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. ⁶ Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. ⁷ God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

³ That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

³ And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;

¹⁷ And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. ¹⁸ And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

¹⁴ And he said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. ¹⁵ And he said unto him, If your presence go not with me, carry us not up from here.

¹² And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

³³ Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way you should go, and in a cloud by day.

⁹ When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:

²⁶ Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

² And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host; ³ And they commanded the people, saying, When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then you shall set out from your place, and go after it. ⁴ Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that you may know the way by which you must go: for you have not passed this way before. ⁵ And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you. ⁶ And Joshua spoke unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.

¹¹ Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan. ¹² Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man. ¹³ And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in a heap. ¹⁴ And it came to pass, when the people set out from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people; ¹⁵ And as they that bore the ark were come unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water, (for Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest,) ¹⁶ That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far at the city Adam, that is beside Zarethan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right opposite Jericho. ¹⁷ And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed completely over Jordan.

²⁷ And the children of Israel inquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

³ And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Why has the LORD defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it comes among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

¹¹ Unto whom I swore in my anger that they should not enter into my rest.

¹² To whom he said, This is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

¹ Thus says the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that you build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

¹⁶ And it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

¹⁶ Thus says the LORD, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.

⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the ends of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travails with child together: a great company shall return there. ⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, in which they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

⁶ In the day that I lifted up my hand unto them, to bring them forth from the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:

²⁸ Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

³ For we who have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. ⁴ For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. ⁵ And in this place again, They shall not enter into my rest. ⁶ Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: ⁷ Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. ⁸ For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. ⁹ There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. ¹⁰ For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. ¹¹ Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, ²¹ And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them in the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: ²² He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

¹⁵ And on the day that the tabernacle was raised up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at evening there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. ¹⁶ So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.

¹² Moreover you led them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way in which they should go.

¹⁹ Yet you in your manifold mercies forsook them not in the wilderness: the pillar of cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way in which they should go.

³⁹ He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

¹⁰ And repays them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hates him, he will repay him to his face.

⁴¹ If I whet my glittering sword, and my hand takes hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm or Song of David.] Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. ² As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

⁸ Arise, O LORD, into your rest; you, and the ark of your strength.

¹² Woe to the multitude of many people, who make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! ¹³ The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. ¹⁴ And behold at evening time trouble; and before the morning he is no more. This is the portion of them that plunder us, and the lot of them that rob us.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Are you not him who has cut Rahab, and wounded the sea monster?

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, You are our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your descendants possess the gate of those who hate them.

¹⁰ The LORD your God has multiplied you, and, behold, you are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

¹³ Return, O LORD, how long? and may you have compassion concerning your servants. ¹⁴ O satisfy us early with your mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. ¹⁵ Make us glad according to the days in which you have afflicted us, and the years in which we have seen evil. ¹⁶ Let your work appear unto your servants, and your glory unto their children. ¹⁷ And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish you the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish it.

¹⁷ O LORD, why have you made us to err from your ways, and hardened our heart from your fear? Return for your servants' sake, the tribes of your inheritance.
