¹ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ² And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

¹¹ For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day: therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

¹⁸ And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of speaking with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

²⁶ For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

⁶ You, even you, are LORD alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and you preserve them all; and the host of heaven worships you.

¹³ By his spirit he has adorned the heavens; his hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.

⁴ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding.

³ When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

⁶ By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

⁹ For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

¹¹ The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours: as for the world and the fullness thereof, you have founded them. ¹² The north and the south, you have created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name.

² Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

⁵ For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

²⁵ Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of your hands.

¹⁶ O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwells between the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: you have made heaven and earth.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, for he is strong in power; not one is missing.

²⁸ Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

⁵ Thus says God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk in it:

²⁴ Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself;

¹⁸ For thus says the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he has established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

¹³ And forget the LORD your maker, that has stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; you have feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

¹⁶ For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: ¹⁷ And he is before all things, and by him all things are held together.

² Has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

¹⁰ And, you, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:

⁴ For every house is built by some man; but he that built all things is God.

³ Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

⁵ For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

¹⁴ And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

¹¹ You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.

⁶ And swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are therein, and the earth, and the things that are therein, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

⁷ Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment has come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

⁶ And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹⁴ Lo, these are only parts of his ways: and how little a whisper is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

¹² Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and measured out heaven with the span, and known the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? ¹³ Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counselor has taught him? ¹⁴ With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?

²³ I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

¹⁰ She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melts, and the knees strike together, and much pain is on all sides, and the faces of them all grow pale.

³⁰ Behold, he spreads his lightning upon it, and covers the depths of the sea.

¹⁹ Where is the way where light dwells? and as for darkness, where is its place,

¹¹ Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

² Who covers yourself with light as with a garment: who stretches out the heavens like a curtain:

²⁷ God is the LORD, who has showed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

⁵ Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

⁷ I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create calamity: I the LORD do all these things.

¹⁹ The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto you: but the LORD shall be unto you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.

³ And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁵ And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness overcame it not.

⁹ That was the true Light, that lights every man that comes into the world.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

⁴³ And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

¹⁴ Therefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.

¹⁶ Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

⁵ This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

⁸ Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines.

⁵ To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endures forever. ⁶ To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endures forever.

⁴ Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters that be above the heavens.

¹ Praise you the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

³ If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall be.

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to endure his indignation.

¹² He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens at his discretion. ¹³ When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his storehouses.

¹⁰ He sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

²⁸ When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: ²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his command: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

²⁷ But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

⁵ Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever. ⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At your rebuke they fled; at the voice of your thunder they hastened away. ⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which you have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

⁷ All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from where the rivers come, there they return again.

²² Fear you not me? says the LORD: will you not tremble at my presence, who has placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though its waves toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

⁹ And he said unto them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.

⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

⁴ He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are justice: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

³¹ The glory of the LORD shall endure forever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given you every plant bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, which has seed in its fruit; to you it shall be for food.

⁵ And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

⁹ And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

¹⁶ And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat:

⁵ As for the earth, out of it comes bread: but under it is turned up as it were fire.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.

⁹ You visit the earth, and water it: you greatly enrich it with the river of God, which is full of water: you prepare them grain, when you have so provided for it. ¹⁰ You water its ridges abundantly: you settle its furrows: you make it soft with showers: you bless its growth. ¹¹ You crown the year with your goodness; and your paths drop fatness. ¹² They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. ¹³ The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with grain; they shout for joy, they also sing.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; ¹⁵ And wine that makes glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart. ¹⁶ The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted; ¹⁷ Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

⁸ Who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.

⁸ For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when the heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

¹⁰ And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

³⁰ Therefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

¹⁶ You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ¹⁷ Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. ¹⁸ A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ¹⁹ Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. ²⁰ Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.

²⁸ For the earth brings forth fruit of itself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full grain in the ear.

⁴³ For a good tree brings not forth corrupt fruit; neither does a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its own fruit. For from thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

⁷ For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth plants fit for them by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God:

¹² Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

¹⁰ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: ¹¹ So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

¹¹ For as the earth brings forth its bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

²⁴ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man who sowed good seed in his field: ²⁵ But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. ²⁶ But when the plant was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its own fruit. For from thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

¹⁰ Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.

¹³ I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

¹⁹ And lest you lift up your eyes unto heaven, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has apportioned unto all nations under the whole heaven.

⁹ Let the stars of its twilight be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:

³ Is there any number to his armies? and upon whom does not his light arise?

⁵ Behold even to the moon, and it shines not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

¹² Have you commanded the morning since your days began; and caused the dawn to know its place; ¹³ That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? ¹⁴ It is turned as clay under the seal; and they stand out as a garment.

³¹ Can you bind the cluster of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? ³² Can you bring forth Mazzaroth in its season? or can you guide Arcturus with its children?

³ When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained; ⁴ What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him?

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork. ² Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge. ³ There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. ⁴ Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun, ⁵ Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. ⁶ Its going forth is from the end of the heaven, and its circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

¹⁶ The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun. ¹⁷ You have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and winter.

³ Blow the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

¹⁹ He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows its going down. ²⁰ You make darkness, and it is night: in which all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

⁹¹ They continue this day according to your ordinances: for all are your servants.

⁷ To him that made great lights: for his mercy endures forever: ⁸ The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endures forever: ⁹ The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endures forever.

³ Praise him, sun and moon: praise him, all you stars of light.

⁶ He has also established them forever and ever: he has made a decree which shall not pass.

² Thus says the LORD, Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the nations are dismayed at them.

³⁵ Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the fixed order of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divides the sea when its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

²⁵ Thus says the LORD; If my covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

⁷ And when I shall put you out, I will cover the heaven, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light. ⁸ All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over you, and set darkness upon your land, says the Lord GOD.

¹ Thus says the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that faces the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

⁶ And on the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish.

¹⁰ The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

³⁰ And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes.

¹⁵ The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

⁸ Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:

⁹ And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth on a clear day:

² Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

² He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, you say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. ³ And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and overcast. O you hypocrites, you can discern the appearance of the sky; but can you not discern the signs of the times?

²⁹ Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; ²⁶ Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking toward those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

⁴⁵ And the sun was darkened, and the curtain of the temple was torn in the middle.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord comes:

¹² And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

¹² And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shined not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

² And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

²⁶ If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in brightness;

⁷ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

⁶ Its going forth is from the end of the heaven, and its circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

¹⁰ For the stars of heaven and its constellations shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not cause its light to shine.

²³ Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his elders gloriously.

¹¹ The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of your arrows they went, and at the shining of your glittering spear.

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

⁴¹ There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differs from another star in glory.

⁸ And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun; and power was given unto it to scorch men with fire. ⁹ And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, who has power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all: the earth is full of your riches. ²⁵ So is this great and wide sea, which teems with things innumerable, both small and great.

¹⁰ Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:

²¹ For there is a man whose labor is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that has not labored in it shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.

²⁵ Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;

²⁰ Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come unto you, to keep them alive.

¹⁴ They, and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind, and every fowl after its kind, every bird of every sort.

¹⁹ Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creeps upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

¹² Am I a sea, or a sea monster, that you set a watch over me?

⁵ Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all: the earth is full of your riches. ²⁵ So is this great and wide sea, which teems with things innumerable, both small and great. ²⁶ There go the ships: there is that leviathan, which you have made to play therein.

² Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, You are like a young lion of the nations, and you are as a monster in the seas: and you came forth with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.

¹⁷ Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

¹⁰ And the LORD spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth.

²⁷ And Laban said unto him, I pray you, if I have found favor in your eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD has blessed me for your sake.

³⁰ For it was little which you had before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD has blessed you since my coming: and now when shall I provide for my own house also?

¹¹ And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall spring forth from you;

⁹ For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

¹⁵ Behold now behemoth, which I made with you; he eats grass as an ox.

¹² So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.

³¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

³⁸ He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and permits not their cattle to decrease.

³ Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: your children like olive plants round about your table.

¹³ That our barns may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: ¹⁴ That our oxen may be strong to labor; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no outcry in our streets.

²² The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

³⁹ Will you hunt the prey for the lion? or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, ⁴⁰ When they crouch in their dens, and abide in their lairs to lie in wait?

¹ Know you the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or can you mark when the hinds do calve?

⁵ Who has let the wild donkey go free? or who has loosed the bonds of the wild donkey?

⁹ Will the wild ox be willing to serve you, or abide by your crib?

¹⁹ Have you given the horse strength? have you clothed his neck with thunder?

⁹ I will take no bullock out of your house, nor male goats out of your folds. ¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

¹⁸ The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the badgers.

²³ Man goes forth unto his work and to his labor until the evening.

¹⁹ And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was its name. ²⁰ And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.

⁸ Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you: and the fish of the sea shall declare unto you. ⁹ Who knows not among all these that the hand of the LORD has done this? ¹⁰ In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

⁵ I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed right unto me.

²² And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:

¹ This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

² And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. ³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green plants have I given you all things. ⁴ But flesh with its life, which is its blood, shall you not eat.

⁷ Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

²³ For you shall be in covenant with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.

¹⁰ But none says, Where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night;

⁴ What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him? ⁵ For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor. ⁶ You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet: ⁷ All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; ⁸ The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.

³ Know you that the LORD he is God: it is he that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

² Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

²⁹ Lo, this only have I found, that God has made man upright; but they have sought out many devices.

⁸ Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

⁸ But now, O LORD, you are our father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.

⁶ And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My Father works still, and I work.

²⁰ For you bring certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

²⁶ And has made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. ²⁹ Therefore then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁴ In whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

²⁴ And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

¹⁵ Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation:

¹⁰ And have put on the new man, that is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

⁶ But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man, that you visit him? ⁷ You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, and did set him over the works of your hands: ⁸ You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

⁷ For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind:

⁹ With this bless we God, even the Father; and with this curse we men, who are made after the similitude of God.

⁷ For there are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one.

¹⁸ And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.

²¹ And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up its place with flesh; ²² And from the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. ²³ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. ²⁵ And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. ⁸ For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. ⁹ Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

²⁶ Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

¹⁶ And I will bless her, and give you a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall come from her.

²⁰ And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

¹⁷ That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies; ¹⁸ And in your descendants shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, You are our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your descendants possess the gate of those who hate them.

³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for unto you, and unto your descendants, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham your father; ⁴ And I will make your descendants to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto your descendants all these countries; and in your descendants shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

²⁴ And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham your father: fear not, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your descendants for my servant Abraham's sake.

⁵ And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with you? And he said, The children which God has graciously given your servant.

²⁵ Even by the God of your father, who shall help you; and by the Almighty, who shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

¹⁰ And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

⁵ Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth: for God blessed him.

³⁴ Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moves therein.

Of Solomon.] Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain that build it: unless the LORD keeps the city, the watchman wakes, but in vain. ² It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he gives his beloved sleep. ³ Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. ⁴ As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. ⁵ Happy is the man that has his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them who believe and know the truth.

³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green plants have I given you all things.

³¹ For by them judges he the people; he gives food in abundance.

¹ [A Psalm of David.] The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

⁷ Who executes justice for the oppressed: who gives food to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:

⁹ He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry.

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the fortresses of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

⁸ For she did not know that I gave her grain, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.

²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? ²⁶ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²⁴ God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; ²⁵ Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;

²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this present age, that they be not haughty, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

³⁹ Will you hunt the prey for the lion? or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, ⁴⁰ When they crouch in their dens, and abide in their lairs to lie in wait? ⁴¹ Who provides for the raven its food? when its young ones cry unto God, they wander about for lack of food.

⁴ Their young ones become strong, they grow up in the open; they go forth, and return not unto them.

⁸ The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searches after every green thing.

³⁰ Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

²⁰ Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

² And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork. ² Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge.

³⁸ Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?

⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
