¹ The words of the preacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem.

⁴² And the days which Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel were forty years. ⁴³ And Solomon will lie down with his fathers and be buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son will reign instead of him.

³⁰ And Solomon will reign in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

⁸ Vanity of vanities, said the preacher; all is vanity. ⁹ And besides, the preacher was wise; he yet taught the people knowledge; and he gave ear, and sought out, setting in order many parables. ¹⁰ The preacher sought to find words: of delight: and that written was straight, words of truth.

¹ The spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah anointed me to announce good news to the afflicted, he sent me to bind up to the broken of heart, to call freedom to the captives, and the opening of the prison to the bound.

² Arise, go to Nineveh the great city, and call to it the calling which I speak to thee.

⁵ And spared not the old world, but Noah the eighth, a herald of justice, he watched, having brought an inundation upon the world of the irreligious;
