¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he set his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not, I am the first and the last,

¹ After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying: 'Fear not, Abram, I am thy shield, thy reward shall be exceeding great.'

¹³ And Moses said unto the people: 'Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will work for you to- day; for whereas ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

²⁰ (20:17) And Moses said unto the people: 'Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that His fear may be before you, that ye sin not.'

⁴ Who hath wrought and done it? He that called the generations from the beginning. I, the LORD, who am the first, and with the last am the same.

¹⁰ Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I strengthen thee, yea, I help thee; yea, I uphold thee with My victorious right hand.

⁶ Thus saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the LORD of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and beside Me there is no God.

¹² Hearken unto Me, O Jacob, and Israel My called: I am He; I am the first, I also am the last.

²⁸ As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was terrified, and fell upon my face; but he said unto me: 'Understand, O son of man; for the vision belongeth to the time of the end.' ¹⁸ Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me, and set me upright.

⁸ So that I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet heard I the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground. ¹⁰ And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me tottering upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

¹² Then said he unto me: 'Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard; and I am come because of thy words.

¹⁵ And when he had spoken unto me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was dumb.

¹⁷ For how can this servant of my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me.' ¹⁸ Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me. ¹⁹ And he said: 'O man greatly beloved, fear not! peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.' And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said: 'Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.'

¹⁶ When I heard, mine inward parts trembled, my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entereth into my bones, and I tremble where I stand; that I should wait for the day of trouble, when he cometh up against the people that he invadeth.

² and he was transfigured before them, and his face did shine as the sun, and his garments became white as the light. ³ And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him. ⁴ And Peter answered, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here; if thou wilt, I will make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. ⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him. ⁶ And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. ⁷ And Jesus came and he touched them and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

⁴ and for fear of him the watchers did quake, and became as dead men.

⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, arrayed in a white robe, and they were amazed. ⁶ And he saith unto them, Be not amazed; ye seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who hath been crucified; he is risen, he is not here; behold, the place where they laid him!

³⁷ But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they beheld a spirit. ³⁸ And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do questionings arise in your heart? ³⁹ See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; handle me, and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye behold me having.

²³ There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

²⁰ Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned back on his breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee?

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ saying, What thou seest, write in a book and send it to the seven churches; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
