³ And I saw one of his heads as though it had been smitten unto death, and his death-stroke was healed; and the whole earth marveled after the beast,

²⁴ And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put My sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

¹ Now it came to pass in those days, there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be enrolled.

¹⁹ The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Behold how ye prevail nothing; lo, the world is gone after him.

¹⁰ to whom they gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. ¹¹ And they gave heed to him, because that of long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.

¹³ And Simon also himself believed; and being baptized, he continued with Philip, and beholding signs and miracles wrought, he was amazed.

⁹ even he, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish, because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie: ¹² that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ And I stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads a name of blasphemy. ² And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

¹² And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he was making the earth and them dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.

¹⁴ And he deceiveth mine own people, even them that dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast having the stroke of the sword and lived.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, even with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with a great wonder.

⁸ The beast that thou sawest was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast, how that he was, and is not, and shall come.

¹⁰ and they are seven kings, the five are fallen, the one is, the other is not yet come, and when he cometh, he must continue a little while.

¹³ These have one mind, and they give their power and authority unto the beast.

¹⁷ For God did put in their hearts to do his mind, and to come to one mind, and to give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God be accomplished.
