²⁰ Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.

² For if I make you sorry, who then is he that maketh me glad but he that is made sorry by me?

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying on your behalf; I am filled with comfort, I overflow with joy in all our affliction. ⁵ For even when we were come into Macedonia our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side, without were fightings, within were fears. ⁶ Nevertheless he that comforteth the lowly, even God, comforted us by the coming of Titus, ⁷ and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort wherewith he was comforted in you, while he told us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced yet more.

¹³ Therefore we have been comforted; And in your comfort we joyed the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit hath been refreshed by you all.

⁸ For God is my witness, how I long after you all in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

¹ If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions, ² make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind,

¹ Wherefore, my brethren beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my beloved.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glorying? Are not even ye, before our Lord Jesus at his coming? ²⁰ For ye are our glory and our joy.

⁷ for this cause, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith: ⁸ for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanksgiving can we render again unto God for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God,

⁷ For I had much thankfulness and comfort in thy love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother.

¹² Thou therefore receive him, that is, my very heart:

¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit to them; for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with grief; for this were unprofitable for you.

¹⁷ But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?

⁴ Greater joy have I none than this, to hear of my children walking in truth.
