²⁵ And the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy elders; and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

⁵ And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.

³⁸ For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and there was fire therein by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. -

¹⁷ And I will come down and speak with thee there; and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

⁵ And the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the Tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth.

¹⁵ And when the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho some way off saw him, they said: 'The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha.' And they came to meet him, and bowed down to the ground before him.

⁷ He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies, and the statute that He gave them.

⁵ And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying: 'I am detained, I cannot go into the house of the LORD; ⁶ therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD'S house upon a fast-day; and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

¹ Follow after love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. ² For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God, for no man understandeth, but in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. ³ But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men edification, and exhortation, and consolation.

³² and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.

²¹ For no prophecy ever came by the will of man; but holy men of God spake, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
