¹ Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; they shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise their heel.'

¹² And it will come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the spirit of the LORD will carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he will slay me; but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.

¹⁶ And they said unto him: 'Behold now, there are with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master; lest peradventure the spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley.' And he said: 'Ye shall not send.'

¹² Then a spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing: 'Blessed be the glory of the LORD from His place';

¹⁴ So a spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

³ And the form of a hand was put forth, and I was taken by a lock of my head; and a spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

¹ Then a spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD'S house, which looketh eastward; and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

²⁴ And a spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from Me.

² In the visions of God brought He me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south.

⁵ And a spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.

¹² And straightway the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness. ¹³ And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan, and he was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered unto him. ¹⁴ Now after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, ¹⁵ and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye, and believe in the gospel.

¹ And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness ² during forty days, being tempted of the devil. And he did eat nothing in those days; and when they were completed, he afterward hungered. ³ And the devil said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become bread. ⁴ And Jesus answered unto him, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. ⁵ And the devil, leading him up into a high mountain, showed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. ⁶ And the devil said unto him, To thee will I give all this authority, and the glory of them; for it hath been delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will I give it. ⁷ If thou therefore wilt worship before me, it shall all be thine. ⁸ And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan; it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. ⁹ And he led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: ¹⁰ for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to guard thee: ¹¹ and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone. ¹² And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God. ¹³ And when the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him for a season.

³⁰ I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh; and he hath nothing in me,

³⁹ And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

¹⁸ For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.

¹⁵ For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one that hath been in all points tried like as we are, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need.
