²⁹ But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken;

¹⁰ For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

²³ Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His elders shall be Glory.

⁴ And all the host of heaven shall moulder away, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig- tree.

²³ I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was waste and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. ²⁴ I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro. ²⁵ I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. ²⁶ I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and before His fierce anger. ²⁷ For thus saith the LORD: The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. ²⁸ For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and I have not repented, neither will I turn back from it.

⁷ And when I shall extinguish thee, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof black; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. ⁸ All the bright lights of heaven will I make black over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.

¹¹ I beheld at that time because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke, I beheld even till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given to be burned with fire. ¹² And as for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away; yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.

¹⁰ Before them the earth quaketh, the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are become black, and the stars withdraw their shining.

³⁰ (3:3) And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ (3:4) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

¹⁵ (4:15) The sun and the moon are become black, and the stars withdraw their shining.

²⁰ Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

⁹ And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

¹⁴ The great day of the LORD is near, it is near and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD, wherein the mighty man crieth bitterly. ¹⁵ That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

⁸ But all these things are the beginning of travail.

²¹ for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.

²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵ and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows, ²⁶ men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in the heaven above, And signs on the earth beneath, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the day of the Lord come, That great and notable day.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

¹² And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood, ¹³ and the stars of the heaven fell unto the earth, as a fig tree casting her unripe figs when she is shaken of a great wind. ¹⁴ And the heaven was removed as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. ¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, ¹⁶ and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ for the great day of his wrath is come, and who is able to stand?

¹² And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, that the third part of them should be darkened, and the day shall not shine for the third part of it, and the night in like manner.
