³⁰ but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions, and in the world to come eternal life.

⁹ And Amaziah said to the man of God: 'But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?' And the man of God answered: 'The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.'

¹¹ (84:12) For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD giveth grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

⁹ Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase; ¹⁰ So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wine.

⁸ Yea indeed, therefore I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord; for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain:

² Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations, ³ Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. ⁴ And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

¹² Blessed is the man that endureth temptation, for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.

¹¹ Behold, we call them blessed that endured; ye have heard of the patience of Job, and the end wrought of the Lord, see that he is full of pity, and merciful.

¹² Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you: ¹³ but insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice, that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are ye, because the Spirit of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you; on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. ¹⁵ For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters: ¹⁶ but if a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this respect.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he promised us, even the life eternal.

¹ Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God. For this cause the world knoweth ye not, because it knew him not.

⁹ I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they art not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

¹⁸ I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich, and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest, that thou mayest smear thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
