² He hath led me and caused me to walk in darkness and not in light.

²⁹ And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not make thy ways prosperous; and thou shalt be only oppressed and robbed alway, and there shall be none to save thee.

¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

²⁶ Yet, when I looked for good, there came evil; and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

⁵³ They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast stones upon me. ⁵⁴ Waters flowed over my head; I said: 'I am cut off.' ⁵⁵ I called upon Thy name, O LORD, Out of the lowest dungeon.

¹⁸ Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! Wherefore would ye have the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light. ¹⁹ As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; and went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. ²⁰ Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

⁶ And angels that kept not their own principality, but left their proper habitation, he hath kept in everlasting bonds under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

¹³ Wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame, wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved forever.
