¹¹ He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.

² For he shot up right forth as a sapling, and as a root out of a dry ground; he had no form nor comeliness, that we should look upon him, nor beauty that we should delight in him. ³ He was despised, and forsaken of men, a man of pains, and acquainted with disease, and as one from whom men hide their face: he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

²⁴ But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not that this man reign over us.

¹³ And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son, it may be they will reverence him when they see him. ¹⁴ But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned one with another, saying, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. ¹⁵ And they cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him. ³² What he hath seen and heard, of that he beareth witness, and no man receiveth his witness.

²⁵ Ye are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. ²⁶ Unto you first God, having raised up his Servant Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.

⁵¹ Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye. ⁵² Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? and they killed them that showed before of the coming of the Righteous One, of whom ye have now become betrayers and murderers,

²⁶ Brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you that fear God, to you is the word of this salvation sent forth.

⁴⁶ And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
