²³ Truly vain have proved the hills, the uproar on the mountains; truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

⁸ (3:9) Salvation belongeth unto the LORD; Thy blessing be upon Thy people. Selah

³⁹ But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. ⁴⁰ And the LORD helpeth them, and delivereth them; He delivereth them from the wicked, and saveth them, because they have taken refuge in Him.

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come? ² My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for GOD the LORD is my strength and song; and He is become my salvation.'

¹¹ I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no saviour.

⁹ They that fashion a graven image are all of them vanity, and their delectable things shall not profit; and their own witnesses see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

¹⁵ Verily Thou art a God that hidest Thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

¹⁷ O Israel, that art saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

²⁰ Assemble yourselves and come, draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations; they have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

⁷ He is borne upon the shoulder, he is carried, and set in his place, and he standeth, from his place he doth not remove; yea, though one cry unto him, he cannot answer, nor save him out of his trouble. ⁸ Remember this, and stand fast; bring it to mind, O ye transgressors.

¹ 'Who is this that cometh from Edom, with crimsoned garments from Bozrah? This that is glorious in his apparel, stately in the greatness of his strength?' - 'I that speak in victory, mighty to save.' -

¹⁶ For Thou art our Father; for Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us; Thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer from everlasting is Thy name.

⁶ And the LORD said unto me in the days of Josiah the king: 'Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel did? she went up upon every high mountain and under every leafy tree, and there played the harlot.

¹⁴ Every man is proved to be brutish, without knowledge, every goldsmith is put to shame by the graven image, his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. ¹⁵ They are vanity, a work of delusion; in the time of their visitation they shall perish. ¹⁶ Not like these is the portion of Jacob; for He is the former of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; the LORD of hosts is His name.

⁸ O Thou hope of Israel, the Saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest Thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?

¹⁴ Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for Thou art my praise.

²⁸ For when I had brought them into the land, which I lifted up My hand to give unto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering, there also they made their sweet savour, and there they poured out their drink-offerings.

⁷ But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.'

⁸ (2:9) They that regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy. ⁹ (2:10) But I will sacrifice unto Thee with the voice of thanksgiving; that which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is of the LORD.

²² Ye worship that which ye know not; we worship that which we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
