³ The mind stayed on Thee Thou keepest in perfect peace; because it trusteth in Thee.

²⁰ And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated of them, because they put their trust in Him.

¹⁸ Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD, the God of their fathers.

⁸ Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge host, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, He delivered them into thy hand.

¹⁰ (9:11) And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

⁷ (85:8) Show us Thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us Thy salvation. ⁸ (85:9) I will hear what God the LORD will speak; for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly.

⁶ (9:5) For a child is born unto us, a son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Pele- joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-sar-shalom; ⁷ (9:6) That the government may be increased, and of peace there be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it through justice and through righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts doth perform this.

¹ Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many, and in horsemen, because they are exceeding mighty; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

² For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel, the LORD of hosts is His name.

¹ Thus saith the LORD: Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, wherewith I have put her away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were ye sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.

¹⁹ Peace, peace, to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith the LORD that createth the fruit of the lips; and I will heal him. ²⁰ But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt. ²¹ There is no peace, saith my God concerning the wicked.

⁷ Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose trust the LORD is. ⁸ For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but its foliage shall be luxuriant; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

⁵ (5:4) And this shall be peace: when the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes among men.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

³³ These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

¹⁸ Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall thy seed be. ¹⁹ And without being weakened in faith, he considered not his own body, now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb, ²⁰ yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God, ²¹ and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition, ¹⁵ having abolished in the flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace, ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

⁷ And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
