²⁹ And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed - to you it shall be for food;

¹⁶ And the LORD God commanded the man, saying: 'Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat;

³ Every moving thing that liveth shall be for food for you; as the green herb have I given you all.

³¹ For by these He judgeth the peoples; He giveth food in abundance.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

¹⁴ Who causeth the grass to spring up for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; to bring forth bread out of the earth, ¹⁵ And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, making the face brighter than oil, and bread that stayeth man's heart.

²⁷ All of them wait for Thee, that Thou mayest give them their food in due season. ²⁸ Thou givest it unto them, they gather it; Thou openest Thy hand, they are satisfied with good.

⁵ He hath given food unto them that fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.

¹⁶ The heavens are the heavens of the LORD; but the earth hath He given to the children of men.

²⁵ Who giveth food to all flesh, for His mercy endureth for ever.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wait for Thee, and Thou givest them their food in due season. ¹⁶ Thou openest Thy hand, and satisfiest every living thing with favour.

⁷ Who executeth justice for the oppressed; who giveth bread to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners;

⁹ He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given, his waters shall be sure.

⁸ (2:10) For she did not know that it was I that gave her the corn, and the wine, and the oil, and multiplied unto her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.

²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? ²⁶ Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value then they?

¹⁷ And yet He left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²⁴ The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands, ²⁵ neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, in respect to all things,

²⁸ for in him we live, and move, and have our being, as certain even of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy,
