¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

⁴ As for the doings of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent.

⁶ Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his might, have been in thee to shed blood. ⁷ In thee have they made light of father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow. ⁸ Thou hast despised My holy things, and hast profaned My sabbaths. ⁹ In thee have been talebearers to shed blood; and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains; in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness. ¹⁰ In thee have they uncovered their fathers' nakedness; in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her impurity. ¹¹ And each hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and each hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and each in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter. ¹² In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken interest and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten Me, saith the Lord GOD. ¹³ Behold, therefore, I have smitten My hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

¹⁸ But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart, and they defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings;

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, evil thoughts proceed, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness; ²³ all these evil things proceed from within, and defile the man.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

²¹ because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened. ²² Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, ²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. ²⁴ Wherefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves: ²⁵ for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. ²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions; for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature: ²⁷ and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was due. ²⁸ And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting, ²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity, whisperers, ³⁰ backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: ³² who, knowing the ordinance of God, that they that practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with them that practice them.

⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing; for to will is present with me, but {\i how to do that which is good I find not.

²⁵ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I of myself with the mind, indeed, serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

⁵ For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

¹³ for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die, but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

³ for ye are yet carnal; for whereas there is among you jealousy, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk after the manner of men?

⁹ Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

²⁰ For I fear, lest by any means, when I come, I should find you not such as I would, and should myself be found of you such as ye would not, lest by any means there should be strife, jealousy, wraths, factions, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults, ²¹ lest again when I come my God should humble me before you, and I should mourn for many of them that have sinned heretofore, and repented not of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they committed.

¹³ For ye, brethren, were called for freedom, only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, for these are contrary the one to the other, that ye may not do the things that ye would.

⁸ For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

¹⁷ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind, ¹⁸ being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart, ¹⁹ who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints, ⁴ nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting; but rather giving of thanks. ⁵ For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. ⁶ Let no man deceive you with empty words; for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.

⁵ Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry, ⁶ for which things' sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience: ⁷ wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things, ⁸ but now do ye also put them all away; anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:

⁹ as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and unruly, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, ¹⁰ for fornicators, for abusers of themselves with men, for menstealers, for liars, for false swearers, and if there be any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine,

³ For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

¹⁴ But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not a wisdom that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

² that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the time of life past sufficeth us to work the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries: ⁴ wherein they think strange that ye run not with them into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

⁸ But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and sinners, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

¹⁵ Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.
