¹ For freedom did Christ set us free; stand fast therefore, and be not entangled again in a yoke of bondage.

¹² (51:14) Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and let a willing spirit uphold me.

²³ Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to bring good tidings unto the humble; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the eyes to them that are bound;

²⁸ Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

⁴ For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders, but they will not move them with their finger.

³² and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ³³ They answered unto him, We are Abraham's seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man; how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin. ³⁵ And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever; the son abideth for ever. ³⁶ If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

¹⁰ Now therefore why make ye trial of God, that ye should put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under law, but under grace.

¹⁸ and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness.

³ So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress; but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man.

⁶ But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that wherein we were held, so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

²² For he that was called in the Lord being a bondservant, is the Lord's freedman; likewise he that was called being free, is Christ's bondservant.

⁵⁸ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.

¹³ Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

⁴ and that because of the false brethren privily brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

²⁵ But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a tutor.

⁹ but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?

²⁶ But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

³¹ Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.

¹³ For ye, brethren, were called for freedom, only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

²⁷ Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ; that, whether I come and see you or be absent, I may hear of your state, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the gospel,

¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day: ¹⁷ which are a shadow of the things to come, but the body is Christ's. ¹⁸ Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ¹⁹ and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and bands, increasing with the increase of God. ²⁰ If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances, ²¹ Handle not, nor taste, nor touch ²² (all which things are to perish with the using), after the precepts and doctrines of men?

⁸ for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

¹⁵ So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours.

⁶ but Christ as a son, over his house, whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.

¹⁴ for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end:

¹⁴ Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

⁸ the Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing, ⁹ which is a figure for the time present, according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect, ¹⁰ being only (with meats and drinks and diverse washings), and carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation. ¹¹ But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

²³ let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not, for he is faithful that promised:

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward. ³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a very little while, He that cometh shall come, and shall not tarry. ³⁸ But the righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him. ³⁹ But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition, but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul.

¹⁶ as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.

¹⁹ promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption, for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage.

³ Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints.

²⁰ But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

²⁵ Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.

³ Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear, and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come upon thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
