² And when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy much peace, and that by thy providence worthy deeds are done for this nation,

³ For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and the covetous vaunteth himself, though he contemn the LORD.

² (12:3) They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour; with flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak. ³ (12:4) May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things!

²⁸ A lying tongue hateth those that are crushed by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

⁵ A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his steps.
