⁸ But if any provideth not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

³⁰ For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it hath increased abundantly; and the LORD hath blessed thee whithersoever I turned. And now when shall I provide for mine own house also?'

⁷ Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him, and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

¹¹ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

¹⁷ And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church; and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican.

¹¹ And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask a loaf, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he for a fish give him a serpent? ¹² Or if he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion? ¹³ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

⁴⁷ { And that servant, who knew his lord's will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes, ⁴⁸ but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

²² If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

¹⁵ For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish, ¹⁶ to the one a savor from death unto death, to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

¹⁵ And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever?

¹⁴ Behold, this is the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I seek not yours, but you; for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

¹⁰ So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.

¹⁶ They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

¹ But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

⁴ For there are certain men crept in privily, even they who were of old written of beforehand unto this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ.

¹³ I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's throne is, and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith in the days wherein Antipas was my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwelleth.

⁸ I know thy works (behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name.
