¹⁷ (5:31) And the king commanded, and they quarried great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with hewn stone.

⁷ For the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready at the quarry; and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. -

⁹ All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewn stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside unto the great court.

² And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

¹⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a costly corner-stone of sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste.

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he that spake with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. ¹⁶ And the city lieth foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth; and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand and twelve furlongs; the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. ¹⁸ And the building of the wall thereof was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like unto pure glass. ¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second, sapphire, the third, chalcedony, the fourth, emerald, ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx, the sixth, sardius, the seventh, chrysolite, the eighth, beryl, the ninth, topaz, the tenth, chrysoprase, the eleventh, jacinth, the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each one of the several gates was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
