¹¹ And such were some of you; but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

² (51:4) Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

⁷ (51:9) Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

¹² There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not washed from their filthiness.

¹⁶ Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before Mine eyes, cease to do evil;

²⁵ In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

¹¹ Of the travail of his soul he shall see to the full, even My servant, who by his knowledge did justify the Righteous One to the many, and their iniquities he did bear.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy baleful thoughts lodge within thee?

²⁵ And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean; from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

¹⁴ I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than indeed the other; for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled, but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

¹⁰ Jesus saith to him, He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit; and ye are clean, but not all.

³⁹ and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

¹⁶ And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, so as to turn them back from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

²⁶ for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season; that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus. ²⁷ Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay; but by a law of faith. ²⁸ We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. ²⁹ Or is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also: ³⁰ if so be that God is one, and he shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.

⁵ But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto ye were delivered, ¹⁸ and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh; for as ye presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness unto sanctification.

³⁰ and whom he foreordained, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

³³ Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth,

² unto the church of God which is at Corinth, even them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, their Lord and ours:

³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

² Ye know that when ye were Gentiles ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might be led.

¹⁶ yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law; because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

⁸ And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed.

¹¹ Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident; for, The righteous shall live by faith,

²⁴ So that the law is become our tutor to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ meekness, self-control, against such there is no law.

¹ And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through trespasses and sins, ² wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience, ³ among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—

¹⁷ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind, ¹⁸ being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart, ¹⁹ who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. ²⁰ But ye did not so learn Christ, ²¹ if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus: ²² that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

⁸ For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord; walk as children of light

²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,

⁵ Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry, ⁶ for which things' sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience: ⁷ wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things,

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

³ For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared, ⁵ not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour, ⁷ that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹¹ For both he that sanctifieth and they that are sanctified are all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

²² let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience; and having our body washed with pure water,

²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar? ²² Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect, ²³ and the scripture was fulfilled which saith, And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God. ²⁴ Ye see then that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith. ²⁵ And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? ²⁶ For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ; Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from a pure heart fervently:

²¹ which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

² that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the time of life past sufficeth us to work the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries:

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loveth us, and loosed us from our sins by his blood,

¹⁴ And I said unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
