¹ The Worship that God Commands This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house that you would build for me, and where will my resting place be?

⁴⁶ He found favor with God and asked to design a dwelling for the house of Jacob, ⁴⁷ but it was Solomon who built a house for him. ⁴⁸ However, the Most High does not live in buildings made by human hands. As the prophet says, ⁴⁹ “‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house can you build for me,’ declares the Lord, “or what place is there in which I can rest?

²² You, too, are being built in him, along with the others, into a place for God’s Spirit to dwell.
