18 H7971 וישׁלחך sent H3068 יהוה And the LORD H1870 בדרך thee on a journey, H559 ויאמר and said, H1980 לך Go H2763 והחרמתה and utterly destroy H853 את H2400 החטאים the sinners H853 את H6002 עמלק the Amalekites, H3898 ונלחמת and fight H5704 בו עד against them until H3615 כלותם they be consumed. 22 H559 ויאמר said, H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H2656 החפץ delight H3068 ליהוה Hath the LORD H5930 בעלות in burnt offerings H2077 וזבחים and sacrifices, H8085 כשׁמע as in obeying H6963 בקול the voice H3068 יהוה of the LORD? H2009 הנה Behold, H8085 שׁמע to obey H2077 מזבח than sacrifice, H2896 טוב better H7181 להקשׁיב to hearken H2459 מחלב than the fat H352 אילים׃ of rams.

23 H3588 כי For H2403 חטאת the sin H7081 קסם of witchcraft, H4805 מרי rebellion H205 ואון iniquity H8655 ותרפים and idolatry. H6484 הפצר and stubbornness H3282 יען Because H3988 מאסת thou hast rejected H853 את H1697 דבר the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H3988 וימאסך he hath also rejected H4428 ממלך׃ thee from king.

24 H559 ויאמר said H7586 שׁאול And Saul H413 אל unto H8050 שׁמואל Samuel, H2398 חטאתי I have sinned: H3588 כי for H5674 עברתי I have transgressed H853 את H6310 פי the commandment H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H853 ואת H1697 דבריך and thy words: H3588 כי because H3372 יראתי I feared H853 את H5971 העם the people, H8085 ואשׁמע and obeyed H6963 בקולם׃ their voice.
