12 H6258 ועתה Now H1980 לכי therefore come, H3289 איעצך give H4994 נא let me, I pray thee, H6098 עצה thee counsel, H4422 ומלטי that thou mayest save H853 את H5315 נפשׁך thine own life, H853 ואת H5315 נפשׁ and the life H1121 בנך of thy son H8010 שׁלמה׃ Solomon.

13 H1980 לכי Go H935 ובאי and get thee in H413 אל unto H4428 המלך king H1732 דוד David, H559 ואמרת and say H413 אליו unto H3808 הלא him, Didst not H859 אתה thou, H113 אדני my lord, H4428 המלך O king, H7650 נשׁבעת swear H519 לאמתך unto thine handmaid, H559 לאמר saying, H3588 כי Assuredly H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H1121 בנך thy son H4427 ימלך shall reign H310 אחרי after H1931 והוא me, and he H3427 ישׁב shall sit H5921 על upon H3678 כסאי my throne? 14 H2009 הנה Behold, H5750 עודך while thou yet H1696 מדברת talkest H8033 שׁם there H5973 עם with H4428 המלך the king, H589 ואני I H935 אבוא also will come in H310 אחריך after H4390 ומלאתי thee, and confirm H853 את H1697 דבריך׃ thy words.

15 H935 ותבא went in H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע And Bath-sheba H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king H2315 החדרה into the chamber: H4428 והמלך and the king H2204 זקן old; H3966 מאד was very H49 ואבישׁג and Abishag H7767 השׁונמית the Shunammite H8334 משׁרת ministered unto H853 את H4428 המלך׃ the king.

16 H6915 ותקד bowed, H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע And Bath-sheba H7812 ותשׁתחו and did obeisance H4428 למלך unto the king. H559 ויאמר said, H4428 המלך And the king H4100 מה׃ What

17 H559 ותאמר And she said H113 לו אדני unto him, My lord, H859 אתה thou H7650 נשׁבעת swarest H3068 ביהוה by the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H519 לאמתך unto thine handmaid, H3588 כי Assuredly H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H1121 בנך thy son H4427 ימלך shall reign H310 אחרי after H1931 והוא me, and he H3427 ישׁב shall sit H5921 על upon H3678 כסאי׃ my throne.

18 H6258 ועתה And now, H2009 הנה behold, H138 אדניה Adonijah H4427 מלך reigneth; H6258 ועתה and now, H113 אדני my lord H4428 המלך the king, H3808 לא not: H3045 ידעת׃ thou knowest

13 H935 ויבא came H138 אדניהו And Adonijah H1121 בן the son H2294 חגית of Haggith H413 אל to H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע Bath-sheba H517 אם the mother H8010 שׁלמה of Solomon. H559 ותאמר And she said, H7965 השׁלום thou peaceably? H935 באך Comest H559 ויאמר And he said, H7965 שׁלום׃ Peaceably.

14 H559 ויאמר He said H1697 דבר moreover, I have somewhat to say H413 לי אליך unto H559 ותאמר thee. And she said, H1696 דבר׃ Say on.

15 H559 ויאמר And he said, H859 את Thou H3045 ידעת knowest H3588 כי that H1961 לי היתה was H4410 המלוכה the kingdom H5921 ועלי on H7760 שׂמו set H3605 כל mine, and all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H6440 פניהם their faces H4427 למלך me, that I should reign: H5437 ותסב is turned about, H4410 המלוכה howbeit the kingdom H1961 ותהי and is become H251 לאחי my brother's: H3588 כי for H3068 מיהוה H1961 היתה׃ it was

16 H6258 ועתה And now H7596 שׁאלה petition H259 אחת one H595 אנכי I H7592 שׁאל ask H853 מאתך H408 אל me not. H7725 תשׁבי H853 את H6440 פני H559 ותאמר And she said H413 אליו unto H1696 דבר׃ him, Say on.

17 H559 ויאמר And he said, H559 אמרי Speak, H4994 נא I pray thee, H8010 לשׁלמה unto Solomon H4428 המלך the king, H3588 כי (for H3808 לא he will not H7725 ישׁיב H853 את H6440 פניך H5414 ויתן that he give H853 לי את H49 אבישׁג me Abishag H7767 השׁונמית the Shunammite H802 לאשׁה׃ to wife.

18 H559 ותאמר said, H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע And Bath-sheba H2896 טוב Well; H595 אנכי I H1696 אדבר will speak H5921 עליך for H413 אל thee unto H4428 המלך׃ the king.

19 H935 ותבא therefore went H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע Bath-sheba H413 אל unto H4428 המלך king H8010 שׁלמה Solomon, H1696 לדבר to speak H5921 לו על unto him for H138 אדניהו Adonijah. H6965 ויקם rose up H4428 המלך And the king H7125 לקראתה H7812 וישׁתחו her, and bowed himself H3427 לה וישׁב unto her, and sat down H5921 על on H3678 כסאו his throne, H7760 וישׂם to be set H3678 כסא and caused a seat H517 לאם mother; H4428 המלך for the king's H3427 ותשׁב and she sat H3225 לימינו׃ on his right hand.

20 H559 ותאמר Then she said, H7596 שׁאלה petition H259 אחת one H6996 קטנה small H595 אנכי I H7592 שׁאלת desire H853 מאתך H408 אל thee; say me not nay. 21 H559 ותאמר And she said, H5414 יתן be given H853 את H49 אבישׁג Let Abishag H7767 השׁנמית the Shunammite H138 לאדניהו to Adonijah H251 אחיך thy brother H802 לאשׁה׃ to wife.

22 H6030 ויען answered H4428 המלך And king H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H559 ויאמר and said H517 לאמו unto his mother, H4100 ולמה And why H859 את dost thou H7592 שׁאלת ask H853 את H49 אבישׁג Abishag H7767 השׁנמית the Shunammite H138 לאדניהו for Adonijah? H7592 ושׁאלי ask H853 לו את H4410 המלוכה for him the kingdom H3588 כי also; for H1931 הוא he H251 אחי brother; H1419 הגדול elder H4480 ממני mine H54 ולו ולאביתר even for him, and for Abiathar H3548 הכהן the priest, H3097 וליואב and for Joab H1121 בן the son H6870 צרויה׃ of Zeruiah.

23 H7650 וישׁבע swore H4428 המלך Then king H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H3068 ביהוה by the LORD, H559 לאמר saying, H3541 כה so H6213 יעשׂה do H430 לי אלהים God H3541 וכה also, H3254 יוסיף to me, and more H3588 כי if H5315 בנפשׁו against his own life. H1696 דבר have not spoken H138 אדניהו Adonijah H853 את H1697 הדבר word H2088 הזה׃ this

24 H6258 ועתה Now H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה therefore, the LORD H834 אשׁר which H3559 הכינני hath established H3427 ויושׁיביני me, and set H5921 על me on H3678 כסא the throne H1732 דוד of David H1 אבי my father, H834 ואשׁר and who H6213 עשׂה hath made H1004 לי בית me a house, H834 כאשׁר as H1696 דבר he promised, H3588 כי H3117 היום this day. H4191 יומת shall be put to death H138 אדניהו׃ Adonijah

25 H7971 וישׁלח sent H4428 המלך And king H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H3027 ביד by the hand H1141 בניהו of Benaiah H1121 בן the son H3077 יהוידע of Jehoiada; H6293 ויפגע and he fell H4191 בו וימת׃ upon him that he died.
