Zephaniah 1:4 Cross References - Great

⁴ I will stretch oute myne hande vpon Iuda, & vpon all soch as dwell at Ierusalem. Thus will I rote oute the remnaunt of Baal from this place, & the names of the Remurins and prestes:

¹² Thou stretchedest out thy ryght hande, the erth swalowed them.

¹³ And I wyll stretch ouer Ierusalem the squaryng lyne of Samaria, and the plommeth of the house of Ahab. And I wyll wype out Ierusalem, as a man wypeth a disshe, and when he hath wyped it, turneth it vp syde downe.

⁴ And the kynge commaunded Helkia the hye preaste, and the inferioure preastes and the kepers of the ornamentes, to brynge out of the temple of the Lorde, all the vesselles that were made for Baal, for the Idole groues & for all the Hoste of heauen. And he burnt them without Ierusalem in the feldes of Cedron, and caryed the asshes of them into Bethel. ⁵ And he put downe the ministers of Baal whom the kynges of Iuda had founded to burne incense in the hyllaulters and cyties of Iuda, that were rounde aboute Ierusalem, and also them that burnt incense vnto Baal, to the sonne, to the mone, to the planetes, and to all the Hoste of heauen.

⁴ and they brake downe the aulters of Baalim euen in hys presence: and other ymages that were in greater honoure then they, he caused to be destroyed. And the groues, kerued ymages, and ymages of metall he brake and made dust of them, and strawed it vpon the graues of them that had offered to them.

²⁶ Thys deuyce hath God taken thorow the whole worlde, and thys is hys hande stretched out ouer all people. ²⁷ For yf the Lord of hostes determen a thynge, who is able to dysanulle it? And yf he stretch forth his hande, who maye holde it in agayne?

¹² Theyr houses with theyr landes & wyues shallbe turned vnto straungers, when I stretch out myne hande vpon the inhabitatours of this land, sayeth the Lorde.

⁵ They that dwell in Samaria haue worshypped the calfe of Bethauen: therfore shall the people mourne ouer them, yee, & the prestes also, that in theyr welthynesse reioysed wyth them: and why? it shall passe awaye from them.

¹³ Thine Idols and thyne Images will I destroye out of the so that thou shalt nomore bowe thy selfe vnto the worckes of thyne awne handes.
