¹⁴ & I wyll turne the captiuyte of my people of Israell: they shal repayre the waste cyties, and haue them in possession: they shall plante vyneyardes, and dryncke the wyne therof they shall make gardens, & enioye the frutes of them.

⁶ Oh that the saluacyon were geuen vnto Israel out of Sion: Oh that the Lorde wold delyuer hys people out of captiuyte. Then shulde Iacob reioyse, and Israell shulde be ryght glad.

⁴ They shall buylde the longe rough wyldernes, & sett vp the olde deserte. They shall repayre the waste places, & soch as haue bene voyde thorowe out many generacyons.

⁸ The Lord hath sworne by his right hande & by his stronge arme, that from hence forth he wyll not geue thy corne to be meate for thyne enemyes, ner thy vyne (wherin thou hast laboured) to be drincke for the straungers. ⁹ But they that haue gathered in the corne, shall eate it, & geue thanckes to the Lord: & they that haue borne in the wyne, shall drinck it in the court of my Sanctuary.

²¹ They shall buylde houses, & dwell in them: they shall plante vyneyardes, & eate the frute of them.

³ For lo, the tyme commeth, sayth the Lorde, that I wyll bryng agayne the presoners of my people of Israel and Iuda, sayth the Lord. For I wyll restore them vnto the lande, that I gaue to theyr fathers, & they shall haue it in possession.

¹⁸ For thus sayth the Lorde: Beholde, I will bring agayne the captiuytie of Iacobs tentes, and defende his dwelling place. The citye shalbe buylded in her olde estate, and the houses shall haue their ryght foundacion,

²³ For thus sayth the Lorde of hoostes the God of Israel: It wyll come therto, that when I haue brought Iuda out of captiuite, these wordes shalbe heard in the lande and in hys cityes. The Lorde, which is the fayre brydegrome of ryghteousnes, make the frutefull, O thou holy hyll.

²⁸ Yee, it shall come therto, that lyke as I haue gone about in tymes past to rote them out, to scatre them, to breake them downe, to destroye them, and chasten them. Euen so wyll I also go diligently aboute, to buylde them vp agayne, & to plante them, sayth the Lorde.

³⁸ Beholde, the dayes come, sayth the Lord, that the citye of the Lorde shalbe enlarged from the towre of Hananeel, vnto the gate of the corner wall: ³⁹ From thens shall the ryght measure be taken before her vnto the hyll toppe of Gareb, & shal come about Gaath, ⁴⁰ and the whole valley of the deed carkases, and of the ashes, and all the feldes vnto the broke of Cedron: and vnto the corner of the horsgate towarde the east, where as the sanctuary of the Lorde also shalbe set. And when it is nowe buylded, and set vp of thys fasshyon, it shall neuer be be broken, nor cast downe any more.

⁵³ As for their captiuyte, namely the captiuyte of Sodoma, & her daughters: the captiuyte of Samaria & her daughters: I will bringe them agayne, so will I also bringe agayne thy captiuyte amonge them:

²⁶ They shall dwell safely therin, buylde houses, & plante vyneyardes: yee, safely shall they dwell therin: when I haue punyshed all those, that despyse them rounde aboute: & then shall they knowe, that I am the Lorde theyr God.

³³ Moreouer, thus saieth the Lord God: what tyme as I shall clense you from all youre offences, then will I make the cyties to be occupied agayne, and will repaire the places that be decayed. ³⁴ The desolate lande shal be builded agayne, which afore time laye waste in the sight of all them that wente by. ³⁵ Then shal it be sayde: this waste lande is become lyke a garden of pleasure, and the voyde, desolate & broken downe cityes are now strong, & defensed agayne. ³⁶ Then the residue of the Heathen that lye rounde about you, shal knowe that I am the Lorde, which repaire that was broken downe, and plante agayne, that was made waste. Euen I the Lord haue spoken it, and will do it in dede.

²⁵ They shall dwell in the lande, that I gaue vnto Iacob my seruaunt, where as your fathers also haue dwelt. Yee, euen in the same lande shal they, their chyldren, & their chylders chyldren dwell for euermore, & my seruaunt Dauid shalbe their euerlastinge prince. ²⁶ Moreouer, I wil make a bonde of peace wt them, which shalbe vnto them an euerlastinge couenaunt. I wil setle them also, & multiply them, my Sanctuary wil I set among them for euermore. ²⁷ My dwellynge shalbe with them: yee, I will be their God, & they shal be my people. ²⁸ Thus the Heathen also shal knowe, that I the Lord am the holy maker of Israell: when my Sanctuary shalbe amonge them for euermore.

²⁵ Therfore, thus sayeth the Lord God: Now will I bringe agayne the captiues of Iacob & haue mercy vpon the whole house of Israel, and be gelous for my holy names sak

¹ For take hede: in those dayes and at the same tyme, when I turne agayne the captiuyte of Iuda and Ierusalem: ² I shall gather all people together, and brynge them in the valley of Iosaphat: and there will I reason with them: because of my people and heritage of Israel: whom they haue scatred about in the nacyons: and parted my lande:

¹¹ For so moche then as ye oppresse the poore, and robbe him of his best sustenaunce: therfore, where as ye haue buylded houses of square stone, ye shall not dwell in them. Maruelous pleasaunt vyneyardes shall ye plante, but the wyne of them shall ye not drincke: & why?

¹³ Their goodes shalbe spoyled, and their houses layed waste: they shal buylde houses, & not dwell in them, they shall plante vynyardes, but not drincke that wyne therof.
