⁴ Dauid was thirtye yere olde, when he began to raygne, and he raygned fourtye yere.

¹ So when Dauid was olde and full of dayes, he made Salomon hys sonne kynge ouer Israel.

²⁷ And the space that he raygned ouer Israel, was fourtye yere: seuen yeare raygned he in Hebron, & .xxxiij. yere raygned he in Ierusalem. ²⁸ And he dyed in a good age: full of dayes, ryches and honoure. And Salomon his sonne raygned in his steade.

¹⁰ The dayes of oure age are thre score yeares and ten: and though men be so stronge that they come to foure score yeares, yet is theyr strength then but laboure and sorowe: so soone passeth it awaye, and we are gone.

⁷ And they had no chylde, because that Elizabeth was barren, and they booth were now well stricken in age.
