Matthew 20:23

23 He said to them, "Then what I drink you shall drink, but as for sitting at my right or my left, that is not mine to give, but belongs to those for whom it is destined by my Father."

John 5:21-29

21 For just as the Father awakens the dead and makes them come to life, the Son makes anyone whom he chooses come to life. 22 For the Father passes judgment on no one, but he has committed the judgment entirely to the Son, 23 so that all men may honor the Son just as much as they honor the Father. Whoever refuses to honor the Son refuses to honor the Father who sent him. 24 I tell you, whoever listens to my message and believes him who has sent me, possesses eternal life, and will not come to judgment, but has already passed out of death into life. 25 I tell you, the time is coming—it is here already!—when those who are dead will listen to the voice of the Son of God, and those who listen to it will live. 26 For just as the Father is self-existent, he has given self-existence to the Son, 27 and he has given him the authority to act as judge, because he is a son of man. 28 Do not be surprised at this, for the time is coming when all who are in their graves will listen to his voice, 29 and those who have done right will come out to resurrection and life, and those who have done wrong, to resurrection and judgment.

Romans 6:3-11

3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into union with Christ Jesus have been baptized into his death? 4 Through baptism we have been buried with him in death, so that just as he was raised from the dead through the Father's glory, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have grown into union with him by undergoing a death like his, of course we shall do so by being raised to life like him, 6 for we know that our old self was crucified with him, to do away with our sinful body, so that we might not be enslaved to sin any longer, 7 for when a man is dead he is free from the claims of sin. 8 If we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him, 9 for we know that Christ, once raised from the dead, will never die again; death has no more hold on him. 10 For when he died, he became once for all dead to sin; the life he now lives is a life in relation to God. 11 So you also must think of yourselves as dead to sin but alive to God, through union with Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 13:4

4 Even if he was crucified through weakness, by the power of God he is alive. For we are weak as he was, but you will find that by the power of God we will be alive as he is.
