¹³ (For the hearers of the Lawe are not righteous before God: but the doers of the Lawe shalbe iustified.

¹ Nowe therefore hearken, O Israel, vnto the ordinances and to the lawes which I teache you to doe, that ye may liue and goe in, and possesse the lande, which the Lord God of your fathers giueth you.

¹ Then Moses called all Israiel, and saide vnto them, Heare, O Israel, the ordinances and the lawes which I propose to you this day, that yee may learne them, and take heede to obserue them.

³ Heare therefore, O Israel, and take heede to doe it, that it may go well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily in the land that floweth with milke and hony, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

¹² It is not in heauen, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go vp for vs to heauen, and bring it vs, and cause vs to heare it, that we may doe it? ¹³ Neither is it beyonde the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go ouer the sea for vs, and bring it vs, and cause vs to heare it, that we may do it? ¹⁴ But the word is very neere vnto thee: euen in thy mouth and in thine heart, for to do it.

² (And enter not into iudgement with thy seruant: for in thy sight shall none that liueth, be iustified)

¹¹ And I gaue them my statutes, and declared my iudgements vnto them, which if a man doe, he shall liue in them.

³⁰ Also thou sonne of man, the children of thy people that talke of thee by the wals and in the dores of houses, and speake one to another, euery one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and heare what is the word that commeth from the Lord. ³¹ For they come vnto thee, as the people vseth to come: and my people sit before thee, and heare thy wordes, but they will not doe them: for with their mouthes they make iestes, and their heart goeth after their couetousnesse. ³² And loe, thou art vnto them, as a iesting song of one that hath a pleasant voyce, and can sing well: for they heare thy woordes, but they doe them not. ³³ And when this commeth to passe (for loe, it will come) then shall they know, that a Prophet hath bene among them.

²¹ Not euery one that sayeth vnto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdome of heauen, but he that doeth my Fathers will which is in heauen. ²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, haue we not by thy Name prophecied? and by thy name cast out deuils? and by thy name done many great workes? ²³ And then will I professe to them, I neuer knewe you: depart from me, ye that worke iniquitie. ²⁴ Whosoeuer then heareth of mee these words, and doeth the same, I will liken him to a wise man, which hath builded his house on a rock: ²⁵ And the raine fell, and the floods came, and the windes blewe, and beat vpon that house, and it fell not: for it was grounded on a rocke. ²⁶ But whosoeuer heareth these my wordes, and doeth them not, shall be likened vnto a foolish man, which hath builded his house vpon the sand: ²⁷ And the raine fell, and the floods came, and the windes blewe, and beat vpon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.

²¹ But he answered, and sayd vnto them, My mother and my brethren are these which heare the worde of God, and doe it.

²⁵ Then beholde, a certaine Lawyer stoode vp, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I doe, to inherite eternall life? ²⁶ And he saide vnto him, What is written in the Lawe? howe readest thou? ²⁷ And he answered, and saide, Thou shalt loue thy Lord God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy thought, and thy neighbour as thy selfe. ²⁸ Then he said vnto him, Thou hast answered right: this doe, and thou shalt liue. ²⁹ But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, Who is then my neighbour?

¹⁴ I tell you, this man departed to his house iustified, rather then the other: for euery man that exalteth himselfe, shall be brought lowe, and he that humbleth himselfe, shalbe exalted.

³⁹ And from al things, from which ye could not be iustified by the Law of Moses, by him euery one that beleeueth, is iustified.

²⁵ For circucision verely is profitable, if thou do the Lawe: but if thou be a transgressour of the Lawe, thy circumcision is made vncircumcision.

²⁰ Therefore by the woorkes of the Lawe shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Lawe commeth the knowledge of sinne.

²³ For there is no difference: for all haue sinned, and are depriued of the glorie of God,

³⁰ For it is one God, who shall iustifie circumcision of faith, and vncircumcision through faith.

² For if Abraham were iustified by workes, he hath wherein to reioyce, but not with God. ³ For what saith the Scripture? Abraham beleeued God, and it was counted to him for righteousnesse. ⁴ Nowe to him that worketh, the wages is not counted by fauour, but by dette: ⁵ But to him that worketh not, but beleeueth in him that iustifieth the vngodly, his faith is counted for righteousnesse.

⁵ For Moses thus describeth the righteousnes which is of the Lawe, That the man which doeth these things, shall liue thereby.

¹⁶ Knowe that a man is not iustified by the works of the Law, but by ye faith of Iesus Christ, euen we, I say, haue beleeued in Iesus Christ, that we might be iustified by the faith of Christ, and not by the workes of the Lawe, because that by the workes of the Lawe, no flesh shalbe iustified.

¹¹ And that no man is iustified by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by faith. ¹² And the Lawe is not of faith: but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them.

⁴ Ye are abolished from Christ: whosoeuer are iustified by the Law, ye are fallen from grace.

²² And be ye doers of the word, and not hearers onely, deceiuing your owne selues. ²³ For if any heare the woorde, and doe it not, he is like vnto a man, that beholdeth his naturall face in a glasse. ²⁴ For when he hath considered himselfe, hee goeth his way, and forgetteth immediately what maner of one he was. ²⁵ But who so looketh in the perfect Lawe of libertie, and continueth therein, hee not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the woorke, shalbe blessed in his deede.

²¹ Was not Abraham our father iustified through workes, when he offred Isaac his sonne vpon the altar? ²² Seest thou not that the faith wrought with his workes? and through the workes was the faith made perfect. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled which sayeth, Abraham beleeued God, and it was imputed vnto him for righteousnesse: and hee was called the friende of God. ²⁴ Ye see then howe that of workes a man is iustified, and not of faith onely. ²⁵ Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot iustified through workes, when she had receiued ye messengers, and sent them out another way?

²⁹ If ye know that he is righteous, know ye that he which doeth righteously, is borne of him.

⁷ Litle children, let no man deceiue you: he that doeth righteousnes, is righteous, as hee is righteous.
