⁵ Then let the enemie persecute my soule and take it: yea, let him treade my life downe vpon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

¹⁵ I haue sowed a sackcloth vpon my skinne, and haue abased mine horne vnto the dust.

⁵ If I haue walked in vanitie, or if my foote hath made haste to deceite, ⁶ Let God weigh me in the iust balance, and he shall know mine vprightnes. ⁷ If my steppe hath turned out of the way, or mine heart hath walked after mine eye, or if any blot hath cleaued to mine handes, ⁸ Let me sowe, and let another eate: yea, let my plantes be rooted out. ⁹ If mine heart hath bene deceiued by a woman, or if I haue layde wayte at the doore of my neighbour, ¹⁰ Let my wife grinde vnto another man, and let other men bow downe vpon her:

¹² When hee taketh pleasure, his taile is like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapt together. ¹³ His bones are like staues of brasse, and his small bones like staues of yron.

⁵ Through thee haue we thrust backe our aduersaries: by thy Name haue we troden downe them that rose vp against vs.

¹² But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.

¹² Through God we shall doe valiantly: for he shall tread downe our enemies.

⁶ I will sende him to a dissembling nation, and I will giue him a charge against the people of my wrath to take the spoyle and to take the pray, and to treade them vnder feete like the mire in the streete.

³ I haue troden the wine presse alone, and of all people there was none with mee: for I will treade them in mine anger, and tread them vnder foote in my wrath, and their blood shalbe sprinkled vpon my garments, and I will staine all my raiment.

¹³ O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee, shall be confounded: they that depart from thee, shalbe written in the earth, because they haue forsaken the Lord, the fountaine of liuing waters.

¹³ Thou wentest foorth for the saluation of thy people, euen for saluation with thine Anointed: thou hast wounded the head of the house of the wicked, and discoueredst the foundations vnto the necke, Selah.

⁵ And they shalbe as the mightie men, which treade downe their enemies in the mire of the streetes in the battell, and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

³ And ye shall treade downe the wicked: for they shall be dust vnder the soles of your feete in the day that I shall doe this, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
