²¹ Surely God will wound the head of his enemies, and the hearie pate of him that walketh in his sinnes.

¹² Except he turne, he hath whet his sword: he hath bent his bowe and made it readie.

²³ And thou, O God, shalt bring them downe into the pitte of corruption: the bloudie, and deceitfull men shall not liue halfe their dayes: but I will trust in thee.

¹⁸ Thou art gone vp on high: thou hast led captiuitie captiue, and receiued giftes for men: yea, euen the rebellious hast thou led, that the Lord God might dwell there.

⁶ He shalbe iudge among the heathen: he shall fill all with dead bodies, and smite the head ouer great countreis.

²⁴ Because I haue called, and ye refused: I haue stretched out mine hand, and none woulde regarde. ²⁵ But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction. ²⁶ I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth. ²⁷ Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you, ²⁸ Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me, ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord. ³⁰ They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction. ³¹ Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises. ³² For ease slaieth the foolish, and the prosperitie of fooles destroyeth them. ³³ But he that obeyeth me, shall dwell safely, and be quiet from feare of euill.

²⁷ Againe when the wicked turneth away from his wickednes that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawfull and right, he shall saue his soule aliue. ²⁸ Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that hee hath committed, he shall surely liue and shall not die. ²⁹ Yet saith ye house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equall. O house of Israel, are not my wayes equall? or are not your wayes vnequall? ³⁰ Therefore I will iudge you, O house of Israel, euery one according to his wayes, sayth the Lord God: returne therefore and cause others to turne away from all your transgressions: so iniquitie shall not be your destruction.

¹³ Thou wentest foorth for the saluation of thy people, euen for saluation with thine Anointed: thou hast wounded the head of the house of the wicked, and discoueredst the foundations vnto the necke, Selah.

⁴ And againe he sent vnto them another seruant, and at him they cast stones, and brake his head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

⁵ I tell you, nay: but except ye amend your liues, ye shall all likewise perish.

¹ Wherefore wee ought diligently to giue heede to the thinges which wee haue heard, lest at any time we runne out. ² For if the worde spoken by Angels was stedfast, and euery transgression, and disobedience receiued a iust recompence of reward, ³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great saluation, which at the first began to be preached by the Lord, and afterward was confirmed vnto vs by them that heard him,

²⁵ See that ye despise not him that speaketh: for if they escaped not which refused him, that spake on earth: much more shall we not escape, if we turne away from him, that speaketh from heauen.

¹⁴ But I haue a fewe things against thee, because thou hast there them that maintaine the doctrine of Balaam, which taught Balac to put a stumbling blocke before ye children of Israel, that they should eate of things sacrificed vnto Idoles, and commit fornication. ¹⁵ Euen so hast thou them, that maintaine the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. ¹⁶ Repent thy selfe, or els I will come vnto thee shortly, and will fight against them with the sworde of my mouth.
