²¹ These things hast thou done, and I held my tongue: therefore thou thoughtest that I was like thee: but I will reproue thee, and set them in order before thee.

¹⁴ And God answered Moses, I Am That I Am. Also he said, Thus shalt thou say vnto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me vnto you.

¹⁹ God is not as man, that he should lie, neither as the sonne of man that he shoulde repent: hath he sayde and shall he not do it? and hath he spoken, and shall he not accomplish it?

³ Our God shall come and shall not keepe silence: a fire shall deuoure before him, and a mightie tempest shall be mooued round about him.

⁸ I wil not reproue thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt offerings, that haue not bene continually before me.

¹¹ And they say, Howe doeth God know it? or is there knowledge in the most High?

⁸ Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sinnes in the light of thy countenance.

⁷ Yet they say, The Lord shall not see: neither will the God of Iaakob regard it. ⁸ Vnderstande ye vnwise among the people: and ye fooles, when will ye be wise? ⁹ Hee that planted the eare, shall hee not heare? or he that formed the eye, shall he not see? ¹⁰ Or he that chastiseth the nations, shall he not correct? hee that teacheth man knowledge, shall he not knowe? ¹¹ The Lord knoweth the thoughtes of man, that they are vanitie.

¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David. Holde not thy tongue, O God of my praise. ² For the mouth of the wicked, and the mouth full of deceite are opened vpon me: they haue spoken to me with a lying tongue. ³ They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

¹ A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.

¹¹ Because sentence against an euill worke is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the children of men is fully set in them to doe euill. ¹² Though a sinner doe euill an hundreth times, and God prolongeth his dayes, yet I knowe that it shalbe well with them that feare the Lord, and doe reuerence before him.

¹⁴ For God will bring euery worke vnto iudgement, with euery secret thing, whether it be good or euill.

¹⁰ Let mercie bee shewed to the wicked, yet hee will not learne righteousnesse: in the land of vprightnesse will he do wickedly, and will not beholde the maiestie of the Lord.

¹⁵ Beholde, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the dust of the balance: beholde, he taketh away the yles as a litle dust. ¹⁶ And Lebanon is not sufficient for fire, nor the beastes thereof sufficient for a burnt offering. ¹⁷ All nations before him are as nothing, and they are counted to him, lesse then nothing, and vanitie. ¹⁸ To whom then wil ye liken God? or what similitude will ye set vp vnto him?

¹⁴ I haue a long time holden my peace: I haue beene still and refrained my selfe: nowe will I crie like a trauailing woman: I will destroy and deuoure at once.

¹¹ And whome diddest thou reuerence or feare, seeing thou hast lyed vnto me, and hast not remembred me, neither set thy minde thereon? is it not because I holde my peace, and that of long time? therefore thou fearest not me.

⁷ The Lord hath sworne by the excellencie of Iaakob, Surely I will neuer forget any of their workes.

⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his bountifulnesse, and patience, and long sufferance, not knowing that the bountifulnesse of God leadeth thee to repentance? ⁵ But thou, after thine hardnesse, and heart that canot repent, heapest vp as a treasure vnto thy selfe wrath against the day of wrath, and of the declaration of the iust iudgement of God,

⁵ Therefore iudge nothing before the time, vntill the Lord come, who will lighten things that are hid in darkenesse, and make the counsels of the hearts manifest: and then shall euery man haue praise of God.

⁹ The Lord of that promise is not slacke (as some men count slackenesse) but is pacient toward vs, and would haue no man to perish, but would all men to come to repentance.

¹⁹ As many as I loue, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and amend.
