² The Lord will keepe him, and preserue him aliue: he shalbe blessed vpon the earth, and thou wilt not deliuer him vnto the will of his enemies.

¹² Giue me not vnto the lust of mine aduersaries: for there are false witnesses risen vp against me, and such as speake cruelly.

²² For such as be blessed of God, shall inherite the lande, and they that be cursed of him, shalbe cut off.

³² The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. ³³ But the Lord wil not leaue him in his hand, nor condemne him, when he is iudged.

³ Surely he will deliuer thee from the snare of the hunter, and from the noysome pestilence. ⁴ Hee will couer thee vnder his winges, and thou shalt be sure vnder his feathers: his trueth shall be thy shielde and buckler. ⁵ Thou shalt not be afraide of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flyeth by day: ⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walketh in the darkenesse: nor of the plague that destroyeth at noone day. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at thy side, and tenne thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come neere thee.

¹ A song of degrees. Blessed is euery one that feareth the Lord and walketh in his wayes. ² When thou eatest the labours of thine hands, thou shalt be blessed, and it shall be well with thee. ³ Thy wife shalbe as the fruitfull vine on the sides of thine house, and thy children like the oliue plantes round about thy table. ⁴ Lo, surely thus shall the man be blessed, that feareth the Lord. ⁵ The Lord out of Zion shall blesse thee, and thou shalt see the wealth of Ierusalem all the dayes of thy life. ⁶ Yea, thou shalt see thy childrens children, and peace vpon Israel.

⁸ Let not the wicked haue his desire, O Lord: performe not his wicked thought, least they be proude. Selah. ⁹ As for the chiefe of them, that compasse me about, let the mischiefe of their owne lippes come vpon them.

⁴ Thus shalt thou say vnto him, The Lord sayeth thus, Behold, that which I haue built, will I destroy, and that which I haue planted, will I plucke vp, euen this whole lande. ⁵ And seekest thou great things for thy self? seeke them not: for beholde, I wil bring a plague vpon al flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life wil I giue thee for a pray in all places, whither thou goest.

⁸ For bodily exercise profiteth litle: but godlinesse is profitable vnto all things, which hath the promise of the life present, and of that that is to come.
