¹⁴ The wicked haue drawen their sworde, and haue bent their bowe, to cast downe the poore and needie, and to slay such as be of vpright conuersation.

¹¹ Behold, this day thine eyes haue seene, that the Lord had deliuered thee this day into mine hand in the caue, and some bade me kill thee, but I had compassion on thee, and said, I will not lay mine hande on my master: for he is the Lordes Anoynted.

¹⁷ Whe Dauid had made an end of speaking these words to Saul, Saul sayd, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? and Saul lift vp his voice, and wept,

² For loe, the wicked bende their bowe, and make readie their arrowes vpon the string, that they may secretly shoote at them, which are vpright in heart.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like vnto thee, which deliuerest the poore from him, that is too strong for him! yea, the poore and him that is in miserie, from him that spoyleth him!

² Hide me from the conspiracie of the wicked, and from the rage of the workers of iniquitie. ³ Which haue whette their tongue like a sword, and shot for their arrowes bitter wordes. ⁴ To shoote at the vpright in secrete: they shoote at him suddenly, and feare not. ⁵ They encourage themselues in a wicked purpose: they commune together to lay snares priuilie, and say, Who shall see them? ⁶ They haue sought out iniquities, and haue accomplished that which they sought out, euen euery one his secret thoughtes, and the depth of his heart.

¹⁰ Bloodie men hate him that is vpright: but the iust haue care of his soule.

²⁷ A wicked man is abomination to the iust, and he that is vpright in his way, is abomination to the wicked.

¹³ Thou art of pure eyes, and canst not see euill: thou canst not behold wickednesse: wherefore doest thou looke vpon the transgressors, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked deuoureth the man, that is more righteous then he?

³⁰ And say, If we had bene in the dayes of our fathers, we would not haue bene partners with them in the blood of the Prophets. ³¹ So then ye be witnesses vnto your selues, that ye are the children of them that murthered the Prophets. ³² Fulfill ye also ye measure of your fathers. ³³ O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell! ³⁴ Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie,

⁵² Which of the Prophets haue not your fathers persecuted? and they haue slaine them, which shewed before of the comming of that Iust, of whome ye are now the betrayers and murtherers,

² And he killed Iames the brother of Iohn with the sword. ³ And when he sawe that it pleased the Iewes, he proceeded further, to take Peter also (then were the dayes of vnleauened bread.)

¹¹ And when Peter was come to himselfe, he said, Nowe I know for a trueth, that the Lord hath sent his Angel, and hath deliuered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the wayting for of the people of the Iewes.

²³ But immediatly the Angel of the Lord smote him, because he gaue not glorie vnto God, so that he was eaten of wormes, and gaue vp the ghost.

¹² Not as Cain which was of that wicked one, and slewe his brother: and wherefore slewe he him? because his owne workes were euill, and his brothers good.
