¹ A Psalme of David. Fret not thy selfe because of the wicked men, neither be enuious for the euill doers.

⁶ And her aduersarie vexed her sore, forasmuch as she vpbraided her, because the Lord had made her barren. ⁷ (And so did he yeere by yeere) and as oft as she went vp to the house of the Lord, thus she vexed her, that she wept and did not eate. ⁸ Then sayd Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thine heart troubled? am not I better to thee then ten sonnes?

⁷ Waite patiently vpon the Lord and hope in him: fret not thy selfe for him which prospereth in his way: nor for the man that bringeth his enterprises to passe.

³ For I feared at the foolish, when I sawe the prosperitie of the wicked.

³¹ Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.

³ The foolishnesse of a man peruerteth his way, and his heart freateth against the Lord.

¹⁷ Let not thine heart bee enuious against sinners: but let it bee in the feare of the Lord continually.

¹ Be not thou enuious against euill men, neither desire to be with them.

¹⁹ Fret not thy selfe because of the malicious, neither be enuious at the wicked.

²¹ Enuie, murthers, drunkennesse, gluttonie, and such like, whereof I tell you before, as I also haue tolde you before, that they which doe such things, shall not inherite the kingdome of God.

⁵ Doe ye thinke that the Scripture sayeth in vaine, The spirit that dwelleth in vs, lusteth after enuie? ⁶ But the Scripture offereth more grace, and therefore sayth, God resisteth the proude, and giueth grace to the humble.
