⁴ One thing haue I desired of the Lord, that I will require, euen that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the dayes of my life, to beholde the beautie of the Lord, and to visite his Temple.

¹¹ Also she vowed a vowe, and sayd, O Lord of hostes, if thou wilt looke on the trouble of thine handmaide, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaide, but giue vnto thine handmaide a manchilde, then I will giue him vnto the Lord all the dayes of his life, and there shall no rasor come vpon his head.

¹⁰ Who asked counsell of the Lord for him and gaue him vitailes, and he gaue him also the sword of Goliath the Philistim.

⁸ Then Dauid asked counsell at the Lord, saying, Shall I follow after this companie? shall I ouertake them? And he answered him, Followe: for thou shalt surely ouertake them, and recouer all.

⁶ Doubtlesse kindnesse and mercie shall follow me all the dayes of my life, and I shall remaine a long season in the house of the Lord.

⁶ I will wash mine handes in innocencie, O Lord, and compasse thine altar,

⁸ O Lord, I haue loued the habitation of thine house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

⁸ When thou saidest, Seeke ye my face, mine heart answered vnto thee, O Lord, I will seeke thy face.

² Out of Zion, which is the perfection of beautie, hath God shined.

² Thus I beholde thee as in the Sanctuarie, when I beholde thy power and thy glorie. ³ For thy louing kindnesse is better then life: therefore my lippes shall prayse thee. ⁴ Thus will I magnifie thee all my life, and lift vp mine hands in thy name. ⁵ My soule shalbe satisfied, as with marowe and fatnesse, and my mouth shall praise thee with ioyfull lippes,

⁴ Blessed is he, whom thou chusest and causest to come to thee: he shall dwell in thy courtes, and we shall be satisfied with the pleasures of thine House, euen of thine holy Temple.

⁴ Blessed are they that dwell in thine house: they will euer praise thee. Selah.

¹⁰ For a day in thy courtes is better then a thousand other where: I had rather be a doore keeper in the House of my God, then to dwell in the Tabernacles of wickednesse.

¹⁷ And let the beautie of the Lord our God be vpon vs, and direct thou the worke of our hands vpon vs, euen direct the worke of our handes.

¹³ And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.

³ And I turned my face vnto the Lord God, and sought by prayer and supplications with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

⁹ Reioyce greatly, O daughter Zion: shoute for ioy, O daughter Ierusalem: beholde, thy King commeth vnto thee: he is iust and saued himselfe, poore and riding vpon an asse, and vpon a colt the foale of an asse.

³³ But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shall be ministred vnto you.

⁷ Aske, and it shall be giuen you: seeke, and ye shall finde: knocke, and it shall be opened vnto you. ⁸ For whosoeuer asketh, receiueth: and he, that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

³⁷ And she was widowe about foure score and foure yeeres, and went not out of the Temple, but serued God with fastings and prayers, night and day.

⁴² But one thing is needefull, Marie hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

⁹ And I say vnto you, Aske, and it shall be giuen you: seeke, and yee shall finde: knocke, and it shalbe opened vnto you. ¹⁰ For euery one that asketh, receiueth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shalbe opened.

²⁴ Striue to enter in at the straite gate: for many, I say vnto you, will seeke to enter in, and shall not be able.

¹ And he spake also a parable vnto them, to this ende, that they ought alwayes to pray, and not to waxe faint,

¹⁸ But we al behold as in a mirrour the glory of the Lord with open face, and are changed into the same image, from glorie to glorie, as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁶ For God that commanded the light to shine out of darknesse, is he which hath shined in our hearts, to giue the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Iesus Christ.

¹³ Brethren, I count not my selfe, that I haue attained to it, but one thing I doe: I forget that which is behinde, and endeuour my selfe vnto that which is before,

⁵ And shee that is a widowe in deede and left alone, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and praiers night and day.

⁶ But without faith it is vnpossible to please him: for he that commeth to God, must beleeue that God is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seeke him.
