³ Though an hoste pitched against me, mine heart should not be afraide: though warre be raised against me, I will trust in this.

¹⁵ And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me vp? Then Saul answered, I am in great distresse: for the Philistims make warre against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by Prophetes, neither by dreames: therefore I haue called thee, that thou mayest tell me, what I shall doe. ¹⁶ Then said Samuel, Wherefore then doest thou aske of me, seeing the Lord is gone from thee, and is thine enemie?

¹⁵ And when the seruant of the man of God arose earely to goe out, beholde, an hoste compassed the citie with horses and charets. Then his seruant sayde vnto him, Alas master, howe shall we doe? ¹⁶ And he answered, Feare not: for they that be with vs, are moe then they that be with them. ¹⁷ Then Elisha prayed, and saide, Lord, I beseech thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the seruant, and he looked, and beholde, the mountaine was full of horses and charets of fyre round about Elisha.

¹⁵ And he said, Hearken ye, all Iudah, and ye inhabitantes of Ierusalem, and thou, King Iehoshaphat: thus saith the Lord vnto you, Feare you not, neither be afraide for this great multitude: for the battel is not yours, but Gods.

⁶ Is not this thy feare, thy confidence, thy pacience, and the vprightnesse of thy wayes?

⁶ I will not be afrayde for ten thousand of the people, that should beset me round about.

⁶ The righteous also shall see it, and feare, and shall laugh at him, saying,

¹¹ Beholde, all they that prouoke thee, shalbe ashamed, and confounded: they shalbe as nothing, and they that striue with thee, shall perish. ¹² Thou shalt seeke them and shalt not finde them: to wit, the men of thy strife, for they shall be as nothing, and the men that warre against thee, as a thing of nought.

¹⁶ Beholde, I haue created the smith that bloweth the coales in the fire, and him that bringeth forth an instrument for his worke, and I haue created the destroyer to destroy. ¹⁷ But all the weapons that are made against thee, shall not prosper: and euery tongue that shall rise against thee in iudgement, thou shalt condemne. This is the heritage of the Lords seruants, and their righteousnesse is of me, sayth the Lord.

³⁵ Who shall separate vs from the loue of Christ? shall tribulation or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakednesse, or perill, or sworde? ³⁶ As it is written, For thy sake are we killed all day long: we are counted as sheepe for the slaughter. ³⁷ Neuerthelesse, in all these thinges we are more then coquerours through him that loued vs.

⁶ Therefore we are alway bolde, though we knowe that whiles we are at home in the bodie, we are absent from the Lord. ⁷ (For we walke by faith, and not by sight.) ⁸ Neuerthelesse, we are bolde, and loue rather to remoue out of the body, and to dwell with the Lord.

²⁸ And in nothing feare your aduersaries, which is to them a token of perdition, and to you of saluation, and that of God.

¹⁴ Notwithstanding blessed are ye, if ye suffer for righteousnes sake. Yea, feare not their feare, neither be troubled.

¹⁰ Feare none of those things, which thou shalt suffer: beholde, it shall come to passe, that the deuill shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tryed, and ye shall haue tribulation tenne dayes: be thou faithfull vnto the death, and I will giue thee the crowne of life.

⁷ And there was a battell in heauen, Michael and his Angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels. ⁸ But they preuailed not, neither was their place found any more in heauen. ⁹ And the great dragon, that olde serpent, called the deuil and Satan, was cast out, which deceiueth all the world: he was euen cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loude voyce in heauen, saying, Now is saluation, and strength, and the kingdome of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast downe, which accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ But they ouercame him by that blood of that Lambe, and by that worde of their testimonie, and they loued not their liues vnto the death.
