⁶ I will wash mine handes in innocencie, O Lord, and compasse thine altar,

¹⁹ For Aaron and his sonnes shall wash their hands and their feete thereat. ²⁰ When they go into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, or when they goe vnto the Altar to minister and to make the perfume of ye burnt offring to the Lord, they shall wash themselues with water, lest they die.

⁴ Euen he that hath innocent handes, and a pure heart: which hath not lift vp his minde vnto vanitie, nor sworne deceitfully.

⁴ Then wil I go vnto the altar of God, euen vnto the God of my ioy and gladnes: and vpon the harpe wil I giue thanks vnto thee, O God, my God.

¹³ Certainely I haue clensed mine heart in vaine, and washed mine hands in innocencie.

¹⁶ Wash you, make you cleane: take away the euill of your workes from before mine eyes: cease to doe euill. ¹⁷ Learne to doe well: seeke iudgement, relieue the oppressed: iudge the fatherlesse and defend the widowe. ¹⁸ Come nowe, and let vs reason together, sayth the Lord: though your sinnes were as crimsin, they shalbe made white as snowe: though they were red like skarlet, they shalbe as wooll.

¹¹ Iudah hath transgressed, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Ierusalem: for Iudah hath defiled the holinesse of the Lord, which hee loued, and hath maried the daughter of a strange God. ¹² The Lord will cut off the man that doeth this: both the master and the seruaunt out of the Tabernacle of Iaacob, and him that offereth an offering vnto the Lord of hostes. ¹³ And this haue ye done againe, and couered the altar of the Lord with teares, with weeping and with mourning: because the offering is no more regarded, neither receiued acceptably at your handes.

²³ If then thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remembrest that thy brother hath ought against thee, ²⁴ Leaue there thine offring before the altar, and goe thy way: first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

²⁸ Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup. ²⁹ For he that eateth and drinketh vnworthily, eateth and drinketh his owne damnation, because he discerneth not the Lords body.

⁸ I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.

⁵ Not by the woorkes of righteousnesse, which we had done, but according to his mercie he saued vs, by the washing of the newe birth, and the renewing of the holy Ghost,

¹⁹ Seeing therefore, brethren, that by the blood of Iesus we may be bolde to enter into the Holy place, ²⁰ By the newe and liuing way, which hee hath prepared for vs, through the vaile, that is, his flesh: ²¹ And seeing we haue an hie Priest, which is ouer the house of God, ²² Let vs drawe neere with a true heart in assurance of faith, our hearts being pure from an euill conscience,
