⁸ The statutes of the Lord are right and reioyce the heart: the commandement of the Lord is pure, and giueth light vnto the eyes.

⁵ Because that Abraham obeyed my voyce and kept mine ordinance, my commandements, my statutes, and my Lawes.

¹⁶ When they haue a matter, they come vnto me, and I iudge betweene one and another, and declare the ordinances of God, and his lawes.

⁵ Behold, I haue taught you ordinances, and lawes, as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should doe euen so within the land whither ye goe to possesse it. ⁶ Keepe them therefore, and doe them; for that is your wisdome, and your vnderstanding in the sight of the people, which shall heare all these ordinances, and shall say, Onely this people is wise, and of vnderstanding, and a great nation.

¹¹ When there shalbe a place which the Lord your God shall chose, to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall yee bring all that I commaund you: your burnt offrings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the offring of your hands, and all your speciall vowes which ye vowe vnto the Lord: ¹² And ye shall reioyce before the Lord your God, yee, and your sonnes and your daughters, and your seruaunts, and your maidens, and the Leuite that is within your gates: for hee hath no part nor inheritance with you.

¹¹ And thou shalt reioyce before the Lord thy God, thou and thy sonne, and thy daughter, and thy seruant, and thy maide, and the Leuite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherles, and the widowe, that are among you, in the place which the Lord thy God shall chuse to place his Name there,

¹⁴ And thou shalt reioyce in thy feast, thou, and thy sonne, and thy daughter, and thy seruant, and thy maid, and the Leuite, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widow, that are within thy gates.

¹² Then all the people went to eate and to drinke, and to send away part, and to make great ioy, because they had vnderstand the wordes that they had taught them.

¹³ Thou camest downe also vpon mount Sinai, and spakest vnto them from heauen, and gauest them right iudgements, and true lawes, ordinances and good commandements,

⁶ The wordes of the Lord are pure wordes, as the siluer, tried in a fornace of earth, fined seuen folde.

³ Beholde, and heare mee, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, that I sleepe not in death:

⁸ I desired to doe thy good will, O my God: yea, thy Lawe is within mine heart.

⁴⁵ That they might keepe his statutes, and obserue his Lawes. Prayse ye the Lord.

¹² Blessed art thou, O Lord: teache mee thy statutes.

¹⁴ I haue had as great delight in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches.

¹⁶ I will delite in thy statutes, and I will not forget thy worde.

²⁴ Also thy testimonies are my delite, and my counsellers.

⁴⁰ Beholde, I desire thy commandements: quicken me in thy righteousnesse,

⁵⁴ Thy statutes haue beene my songes in the house of my pilgrimage.

⁸⁰ Let mine heart bee vpright in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed.

⁹² Except thy Lawe had bene my delite, I should now haue perished in mine affliction.

⁹⁸ By thy commandements thou hast made mee wiser then mine enemies: for they are euer with mee. ⁹⁹ I haue had more vnderstading then all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I vnderstoode more then the ancient, because I kept thy precepts.

¹⁰⁵ NUN. Thy worde is a lanterne vnto my feete, and a light vnto my path.

¹²¹ AIN. I haue executed iudgement and iustice: leaue me not to mine oppressours.

¹²⁸ Therefore I esteeme all thy precepts most iust, and hate all false wayes.

¹³⁰ The entrance into thy wordes sheweth light, and giueth vnderstanding to the simple.

¹⁴³ Trouble and anguish are come vpon me: yet are thy commandements my delite.

¹⁷¹ My lippes shall speake praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.

⁶ For the Lord giueth wisdome, out of his mouth commeth knowledge and vnderstanding.

²³ For the commandement is a lanterne, and instruction a light: and corrections for instruction are the way of life,

⁵ Euery worde of God is pure: he is a shield to those, that trust in him.

⁵ Thou diddest meete him, that reioyced in thee, and did iustly: they remembred thee in thy wayes: beholde, thou art angrie, for we haue sinned: yet in them is continuance, and we shall be saued.

¹⁶ Thy wordes were founde by me, and I did eate them, and thy worde was vnto me the ioy and reioycing of mine heart: for thy Name is called vpon me, O Lord God of hostes.

²⁷ And I will put my spirite within you, and cause you to walke in my statutes, and ye shall keepe my iudgements and do them.

¹⁷ Beholde, thou art called a Iewe, and restest in the Lawe, and gloriest in God, ¹⁸ And knowest his will, and triest the things that dissent from it, in that thou art instructed by the Lawe: ¹⁹ And persuadest thy selfe that thou art a guide of the blinde, a light of them which are in darkenesse, ²⁰ An instructer of them which lacke discretion, a teacher of the vnlearned, which hast the forme of knowledge, and of the truth in ye Law.

²⁰ Therefore by the woorkes of the Lawe shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Lawe commeth the knowledge of sinne.

⁷ What shall we say then? Is the Lawe sinne? God forbid. Nay, I knewe not sinne, but by the Lawe: for I had not knowen lust, except the Lawe had sayd, Thou shalt not lust.

¹² Wherefore the Lawe is holy, and that commandement is holy, and iust, and good. ¹³ Was that then which is good, made death vnto me? God forbid: but sinne, that it might appeare sinne, wrought death in me by that which is good, that sinne might be out of measure sinfull by the commandement. ¹⁴ For we knowe that the Law is spirituall, but I am carnall, solde vnder sinne.

²² For I delite in the Law of God, concerning the inner man:

¹⁹ For I through the Lawe am dead to the Lawe, that I might liue vnto God.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the workes of the Lawe, are vnder the curse: for it is written, Cursed is euery man that continueth not in all things, which are written in the booke of the Law, to doe them. ¹¹ And that no man is iustified by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by faith. ¹² And the Lawe is not of faith: but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them. ¹³ Christ hath redeemed vs from the curse of the Lawe, made a curse for vs, (for it is written, Cursed is euery one that hangeth on tree)

²¹ Is the Lawe then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had bene a Lawe giuen which coulde haue giuen life, surely righteousnes should haue bene by the Lawe.
