¹⁰ He hath not pleasure in the strength of an horse, neither delighteth he in the legs of man.

¹⁹ He sheweth himselfe cruell vnto his yong ones, as they were not his, and is without feare, as if he trauailed in vaine. ²⁰ For God had depriued him of wisedom, and hath giuen him no part of vnderstanding. ²¹ When time is, he mounteth on hie: he mocketh the horse and his rider. ²² Hast thou giuen the horse strength? or couered his necke with neying? ²³ Hast thou made him afraid as the grashopper? his strong neying is fearefull. ²⁴ He diggeth in the valley, and reioyceth in his strength: he goeth foorth to meete the harnest man. ²⁵ He mocketh at feare, and is not afraid, and turneth not backe from the sworde,

⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

¹⁶ The King is not saued by the multitude of an hoste, neither is the mightie man deliuered by great strength. ¹⁷ A horse is a vaine helpe, and shall not deliuer any by his great strength. ¹⁸ Beholde, the eye of the Lord is vpon them that feare him, and vpon them, that trust in his mercie,

³¹ The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but saluation is of the Lord.

¹¹ I returned, and I sawe vnder the sunne that the race is not to the swift, nor the battell to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor also riches to men of vnderstanding, neither yet fauour to men of knowledge: but time and chance commeth to them all.

¹ Woe vnto them that goe downe into Egypt for helpe, and stay vpon horses, and trust in charets, because they are many, and in horsemen, because they be very strong: but they looke not vnto the holy one of Israel, nor seeke vnto the Lord.

⁷ Yet I will haue mercie vpon the house of Iudah, and wil saue them by the Lord their God, and wil not saue them by bow, nor by sword nor by battell, by horses, nor by horsemen.
