⁹⁵ The wicked haue waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.

²⁰ Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes. ²¹ Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee. ²² Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie. ²³ See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.

¹ Moreouer Ahithophel said to Absalom, Let me chuse out now twelue thousand men, and I will vp and follow after Dauid this night, ² And I will come vpon him: for he is wearie, and weake handed: so I will feare him, and all the people that are with him, shall flee, and I will smite the King onely, ³ And I will bring againe all the people vnto thee, and when all shall returne, ( the man whome thou seekest being slaine) all the people shalbe in peace. ⁴ And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the Elders of Israel.

⁸ He lieth in waite in the villages: in the secret places doeth hee murder the innocent: his eyes are bent against the poore. ⁹ He lyeth in waite secretly, euen as a lyon in his denne: he lyeth in waite to spoyle the poore: he doeth spoyle the poore, when he draweth him into his net. ¹⁰ He croucheth and boweth: therefore heaps of the poore doe fall by his might.

² When the wicked, euen mine enemies and my foes came vpon mee to eate vp my flesh; they stumbled and fell.

³² The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

¹² They also, that seeke after my life, laye snares, and they that go about to do me euil, talke wicked things and imagine deceite continually.

²⁴ Also thy testimonies are my delite, and my counsellers.

³¹ I haue cleaued to thy testimonies, O Lord: confound me not.

⁶¹ The bandes of the wicked haue robbed me: but I haue not forgotten thy Lawe.

⁶⁹ The proud haue imagined a lie against me: but I wil keepe thy precepts with my whole heart.

⁸⁵ The proude haue digged pittes for mee, which is not after thy Lawe. ⁸⁶ All thy commandements are true: they persecute me falsely: helpe me. ⁸⁷ They had almost consumed me vpon the earth: but I forsooke not thy precepts.

¹¹¹ Thy testimonies haue I taken as an heritage for euer: for they are the ioy of mine heart.

¹²⁵ I am thy seruant: graunt mee therefore vnderstanding, that I may knowe thy testimonies.

¹²⁹ PE. Thy testimonies are wonderfull: therefore doeth my soule keepe them.

¹⁶⁷ My soule hath kept thy testimonies: for I loue them exceedingly.

³ Then assembled together the chiefe Priests, and the Scribes, and the Elders of ye people into the hall of the high Priest called Caiaphas: ⁴ And consulted together that they might take Iesus by subtiltie, and kill him. ⁵ But they sayd, Not on the feast day, least any vprore be among the people.

²¹ But let them not perswade thee: for there lie in waite for him of them, more then fourtie men, which haue bound themselues with a curse, that they will neither eate nor drinke, till they haue killed him: and nowe are they readie, and waite for thy promise.

³ And desired fauour against him, that hee would send for him to Hierusalem: and they layd waite to kill him by the way.
