¹⁷⁰ Let my supplication come before thee, and deliuer me according to thy promise.

⁹ Moreouer Iaakob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Izhak: Lord, which saydest vnto me, Returne vnto thy coutrey and to thy kinred, and I will do thee good, ¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and al the trueth, which thou hast shewed vnto thy seruant: for with my staffe came I ouer this Iorden, and now haue I gotte two bads. ¹¹ I pray thee, Deliuer me from the hande of my brother, from the hande of Esau: for I feare him, least he will come and smite me, and the mother vpon the children. ¹² For thou saydest; I will surely doe thee good, and make thy seede as the sande of the sea, which can not be nombred for multitude.

²⁵ Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.

² Heare the voyce of my petitions, when I crie vnto thee, when I holde vp mine handes towarde thine holy Oracle.

² Bowe downe thine eare to me: make haste to deliuer mee: be vnto me a stronge rocke, and an house of defence to saue me.

²⁰ I haue found Dauid my seruant: with mine holy oyle haue I anoynted him. ²¹ Therefore mine hande shall be established with him, and mine arme shall strengthen him. ²² The enemie shall not oppresse him, neither shall the wicked hurt him. ²³ But I will destroy his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. ²⁴ My trueth also and my mercie shall be with him, and in my Name shall his horne be exalted. ²⁵ I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the floods.
