⁶ Eate thou not the bread of him that hath an euil eye, neither desire his deintie meates.

⁹ Beware that there be not a wicked thought in thine heart, to say, The seuenth yeere, the yeere of freedome is at hand: therefore it grieueth thee to looke on thy poore brother, and thou giuest him nought, and he crie vnto the Lord against thee, so that sinne be in thee:

⁵⁶ The tender and deintie woman among you, which neuer woulde venture to set the sole of her foote vpon the grounde (for her softnesse and tendernesse) shalbe grieued at her husband that lieth in her bosome, and at her sonne, and at her daughter,

⁴ Incline not mine heart to euill, that I should commit wicked workes with men that worke iniquitie: and let me not eate of their delicates.

⁹ He that hath a good eye, he shalbe blessed: for he giueth of his bread vnto the poore.

³ Be not desirous of his deintie meates: for it is a deceiuable meate.

²² A man with a wicked eye hasteth to riches, and knoweth not, that pouertie shall come vpon him.

⁸ But Daniel had determined in his heart, that hee woulde not defile him selfe with the portion of the Kings meate, nor with the wine which he dranke: therefore he required the chiefe of the Eunuches that he might not defile himselfe. ⁹ (Nowe God had brought Daniel into fauour, and tender loue with the chiefe of the Eunuches) ¹⁰ And the chiefe of the Eunuches sayd vnto Daniel, I feare my lord the King, who hath appointed your meate and your drinke: therefore if he see your faces worse liking then the other children, which are of your sort, then shall you make me lose mine head vnto the King.
