¹⁷ Hee that is mercifull, rewardeth his owne soule: but he that troubleth his own flesh, is cruel.

¹⁹ For he hath vndone many: he hath forsaken the poore, and hath spoyled houses which he builded not. ²⁰ Surely he shall feele no quietnes in his bodie, neither shall he reserue of that which he desired. ²¹ There shall none of his meate bee left: therefore none shall hope for his goods. ²² When he shalbe filled with his abundance, he shalbe in paine, and the hand of all the wicked shall assaile him. ²³ He shall be about to fill his belly, but God shall sende vpon him his fierce wrath, and shall cause to rayne vpon him, euen vpon his meate.

¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. Blessed is he that iudgeth wisely of the poore: the Lord shall deliuer him in ye time of trouble. ² The Lord will keepe him, and preserue him aliue: he shalbe blessed vpon the earth, and thou wilt not deliuer him vnto the will of his enemies. ³ The Lord wil strengthen him vpon ye bed of sorow: thou hast turned al his bed in his sicknes. ⁴ Therefore I saide, Lord haue mercie vpon me: heale my soule, for I haue sinned against thee.

⁴ Vnto the righteous ariseth light in darkenes: he is merciful and full of copassion and righteous. ⁵ A good man is mercifull and lendeth, and will measure his affaires by iudgement. ⁶ Surely he shall neuer be moued: but the righteous shalbe had in euerlasting remembrance. ⁷ He will not be afraide of euill tidings: for his heart is fixed, and beleeueth in the Lord. ⁸ His heart is stablished: therefore he will not feare, vntill he see his desire vpon his enemies. ⁹ He hath distributed and giuen to ye poore: his righteousnesse remaineth for euer: his horne shalbe exalted with glory.

²⁷ He that is greedie of gaine, troubleth his owne house: but he that hateth giftes, shall liue.

⁸ There is one alone, and there is not a second, which hath neither sonne nor brother, yet is there none end of all his trauaile, neither can his eye be satisfied with riches: neither doeth he thinke, For whome doe I trauaile and defraude my soule of pleasure? this also is vanitie, and this is an euill trauaile.

⁷ For the weapons of the churle are wicked: hee deuiseth wicked counsels, to vndoe the poore with lying words: and to speake against the poore in iudgement. ⁸ But the liberall man will deuise of liberall things, and he will continue his liberalitie.

¹ The righteous perisheth, and no man considereth it in heart: and mercifull men are taken away, and no man vnderstandeth that the righteous is taken away from the euill to come.

⁷ Is it not to deale thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poore that wander, vnto thine house? when thou seest the naked, that thou couer him, and hide not thy selfe from thine owne flesh? ⁸ Then shall thy light breake foorth as the morning, and thine health shall grow speedily: thy righteousnes shall goe before thee, and the glorie of the Lord shall embrace thee. ⁹ Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answere: thou shalt cry and hee shall say, Here I am: if thou take away from the mids of thee the yoke, the putting foorth of the finger, and wicked speaking: ¹⁰ If thou powre out thy soule to the hungrie, and refresh the troubled soule: then shall thy light spring out in the darkenes, and thy darkenes shalbe as the noone day. ¹¹ And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfie thy soule in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watred garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters faile not. ¹² And they shalbe of thee, that shall builde the olde waste places: thou shalt rayse vp the foundations for many generations, and thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach and the restorer of the pathes to dwell in.

²⁷ And the King spake and sayde, Is not this great Babel, that I haue built for the house of the kingdome by the might of my power, and for the honour of my maiestie?

⁷ Blessed are the mercifull: for they shall obteine mercie.

¹⁴ For if ye doe forgiue men their trespasses, your heauenly Father will also forgiue you. ¹⁵ But if ye do not forgiue men their trespasses,, no more will your father forgiue you your trespaces.

³⁴ Then shall ye king say to them on his right hand, Come ye blessed of my father: take the inheritance of the kingdome prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I was an hungred, and ye gaue me meate: I thirsted, and ye gaue me drinke: I was a stranger, and ye tooke me in vnto you. ³⁶ I was naked, and ye clothed me: I was sicke, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came vnto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answere him, saying, Lord, when sawe we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or a thirst, and gaue thee drinke? ³⁸ And when sawe we thee a stranger, and tooke thee in vnto vs? or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ Or when sawe we thee sicke, or in prison, and came vnto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answere, and say vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, in as much as ye haue done it vnto one of the least of these my brethre, ye haue done it to me.

³⁸ Giue, and it shalbe giuen vnto you: a good measure, pressed downe, shaken together and running ouer shall men giue into your bosome: for with what measure ye mete, with the same shall men mete to you againe.

⁶ This yet remember, that he which soweth sparingly, shall reape also sparingly, and hee that soweth liberally, shall reape also liberally. ⁷ As euery man wisheth in his heart, so let him giue, not grudgingly, or of necessitie: for God loueth a cheerefull giuer. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace to abound towarde you, that yee alwayes hauing all sufficiencie in all thinges, may abounde in euery good worke, ⁹ (As it is written, He hath sparsed abroad and hath giuen to the poore: his beneuolence remayneth for euer. ¹⁰ Also hee that findeth seede to the sower, will minister likewise bread for foode, and multiplie your seede, and increase the fruites of your beneuolence,) ¹¹ That on all partes yee may bee made rich vnto all liberalitie, which causeth through vs thankesgiuing vnto God. ¹² For the ministration of this seruice not onely supplieth the necessities of the Saintes, but also aboundantly causeth many to giue thankes to God, ¹³ (Which by the experiment of this ministration praise God for your voluntarie submission to the Gospell of Christ, and for your liberall distribution to them, and to all men) ¹⁴ And in their praier for you, to log after you greatly, for the aboundant grace of God in you.

¹⁷ Not that I desire a gift: but I desire the fruit which may further your reckoning.

¹³ For there shalbe condemnation merciles to him that sheweth not mercie, and mercie reioyceth against condemnation.

¹ Goe to nowe, ye rich men: weepe, and howle for your miseries that shall come vpon you. ² Your riches are corrupt, and your garments are moth eaten. ³ Your gold and siluer is cankred, and the rust of them shalbe a witnesse against you, and shall eate your flesh, as it were fire. Ye haue heaped vp treasure for the last dayes. ⁴ Behold, the hire of ye labourers, which haue reaped your fieldes (which is of you kept backe by fraude) cryeth, and the cryes of them which haue reaped, are entred into the eares of the Lord of hostes. ⁵ Ye haue liued in pleasure on the earth, and in wantonnes. Ye haue nourished your heartes, as in a day of slaughter.
