⁹ And might bee founde in him, that is, not hauing mine owne righteousnesse, which is of the Lawe, but that which is through the faith of Christ, euen the righteousnesse which is of God through faith,

²³ So he destroyed euery thing that was vpon the earth, from man to beast, to ye creeping thing, and to the foule of the heauen: they were euen destroyed from the earth. And Noah onely remained; and they that were with him in ye Arke.

³ Thou shalt prepare thee the way, and deuide the coastes of the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee to inherite, into three parts, that euery manslayer may flee thither. ⁴ This also is ye cause wherfore the manslayer shall flee thither, and liue: who so killeth his neighbor ignorantly, and hated him not in time passed:

²⁶ Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the wordes of this Law, to do them: And all the people shall say: So be it.

⁴⁶ If they sinne against thee, ( for there is no man that sinneth not) and thou be angry with them, and deliuer them vnto the enemies, so that they cary them away prisoners vnto the land of the enemies, either farre or neere,

²⁵ But Hezekiah did not render according to the rewarde bestowed vpon him: for his heart was lift vp, and wrath came vpon him, and vpon Iudah and Ierusalem.

³¹ But because of the ambassadours of the princes of Babel, which sent vnto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the lande, God left him to trie him, and to knowe all that was in his heart.

²⁸ Then I am afrayd of all my sorowes, knowing that thou wilt not iudge me innocent. ²⁹ If I be wicked, why labour I thus in vaine? ³⁰ If I wash my selfe with snowe water, and purge mine hands most cleane, ³¹ Yet shalt thou plunge mee in the pit, and mine owne clothes shall make me filthie.

¹⁴ If I haue sinned, then thou wilt streightly looke vnto me, and wilt not holde mee giltlesse of mine iniquitie. ¹⁵ If I haue done wickedly, wo vnto me: if I haue done righteously, I will not lift vp mine head, being full of confusion, because I see mine affliction.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be cleane? and he that is borne of woman, that he shoulde be iust? ¹⁵ Beholde, he founde no stedfastnesse in his Saintes: yea, the heauens are not cleane in his sight. ¹⁶ How much more is man abominable, and filthie, which drinketh iniquitie like water?

⁵ I haue heard of thee by the hearing of the eare, but now mine eye seeth thee. ⁶ Therefore I abhorre my selfe, and repent in dust and ashes.

³ All are gone out of the way: they are all corrupt: there is none that doeth good, no not one.

¹² Who can vnderstand his faultes? clense me from secret fautes.

¹⁵ My mouth shall daily rehearse thy righteousnesse, and thy saluation: for I knowe not the nomber. ¹⁶ I will goe forwarde in the strength of the Lord God, and will make mention of thy righteousnesse, euen of thine onely.

³ If thou, O Lord, straightly markest iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? ⁴ But mercie is with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

² (And enter not into iudgement with thy seruant: for in thy sight shall none that liueth, be iustified)

²⁰ It is good that thou lay hold on this: but yet withdrawe not thine hand from that: for he that feareth God, shall come forth of them all.

⁵ Then I sayd, Wo is me: for I am vndone, because I am a man of polluted lips, and I dwell in the middes of a people of polluted lips: for mine eyes haue seene the King and Lord of hostes.

²⁴ Surely he shall say, In the Lord haue I righteousnesse and strength: he shall come vnto him, and all that prouoke him, shall be ashamed. ²⁵ The whole seede of Israel shall be iustified, and glorie in the Lord.

¹³ I bring neere my iustice: it shall not be farre off, and my saluation shall not tarie: for I wil giue saluation in Zion, and my glory vnto Israel.

⁶ All we like sheepe haue gone astraye: wee haue turned euery one to his owne way, and the Lord hath layed vpon him the iniquitie of vs all.

¹¹ Hee shall see of the trauaile of his soule, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous seruant iustifie many: for hee shall beare their iniquities.

⁵ Thou diddest meete him, that reioyced in thee, and did iustly: they remembred thee in thy wayes: beholde, thou art angrie, for we haue sinned: yet in them is continuance, and we shall be saued. ⁶ But we haue all bene as an vncleane thing, and all our righteousnes is as filthie cloutes, and we all doe fade like a leafe, and our iniquities like the winde haue taken vs away.

⁶ In his dayes Iudah shalbe saued, and Israel shall dwell safely, and this is the Name wherby they shall call him, The Lord our righteousnesse.

¹⁶ In those dayes shall Iudah be saued, and Ierusalem shall dwell safely, and hee that shall call her, is the Lord our righteousnesse.

²⁴ Seuentie weekes are determined vpon thy people and vpon thine holy citie, to finish the wickednes, and to seale vp the sinnes, and to reconcile the inquitie, and to bring in euerlasting righteousnesse, and to seale vp the vision and prophecie, and to anoynt the most Holy.

¹³ But goe yee and learne what this is, I will haue mercie, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.

²⁵ Then beholde, a certaine Lawyer stoode vp, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I doe, to inherite eternall life? ²⁶ And he saide vnto him, What is written in the Lawe? howe readest thou? ²⁷ And he answered, and saide, Thou shalt loue thy Lord God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy thought, and thy neighbour as thy selfe. ²⁸ Then he said vnto him, Thou hast answered right: this doe, and thou shalt liue. ²⁹ But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, Who is then my neighbour?

⁸ And when he is come, he will reproue the worlde of sinne, and of righteousnesse, and of iudgement. ⁹ Of sinne, because they beleeued not in me: ¹⁰ Of righteousnesse, because I goe to my Father, and ye shall see me no more: ¹¹ Of iudgement, because the prince of this world is iudged.

¹⁷ For by it the righteousnesse of God is reueiled from faith to faith: as it is written, The iust shall liue by faith.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatsoeuer ye Lawe saieth, it saieth it to them which are vnder ye Law, that euery mouth may bee stopped, and all the world be subiect to the iudgement of God. ²⁰ Therefore by the woorkes of the Lawe shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Lawe commeth the knowledge of sinne. ²¹ But nowe is the righteousnesse, of God made manifest without the Lawe, hauing witnes of the Lawe and of the Prophets, ²² To wit, the righteousnesse of God by the faith of Iesus Christ, vnto all, and vpon all that beleeue.

⁵ But to him that worketh not, but beleeueth in him that iustifieth the vngodly, his faith is counted for righteousnesse. ⁶ Euen as Dauid declareth the blessednesse of the man, vnto whom God imputeth righteousnes without workes, saying,

¹³ For the promise that he should be the heire of the worlde, was not giuen to Abraham, or to his seede, through the Lawe, but through the righteousnesse of faith. ¹⁴ For if they which are of the Lawe, be heires, faith is made voide, and the promise is made of none effect. ¹⁵ For the Lawe causeth wrath: for where no Lawe is, there is no transgression.

²¹ That as sinne had reigned vnto death, so might grace also reigne by righteousnesse vnto eternall life, through Iesus Christ our Lord.

⁵ For when we were in ye flesh, the affections of sinnes, which were by the Law, had force in our members, to bring foorth fruit vnto death. ⁶ But now we are deliuered from the Lawe, he being dead in whom we were holden, that we should serue in newnesse of Spirite, and not in the oldnesse of the letter. ⁷ What shall we say then? Is the Lawe sinne? God forbid. Nay, I knewe not sinne, but by the Lawe: for I had not knowen lust, except the Lawe had sayd, Thou shalt not lust. ⁸ But sinne tooke an occasion by ye commandement, and wrought in me all maner of concupiscence: for without the Lawe sinne is dead. ⁹ For I once was aliue, without the Law: but when the commandement came, sinne reuiued, ¹⁰ But I died: and the same commandement which was ordeined vnto life, was found to be vnto me vnto death. ¹¹ For sinne tooke occasion by the commandement, and deceiued me, and thereby slewe me. ¹² Wherefore the Lawe is holy, and that commandement is holy, and iust, and good. ¹³ Was that then which is good, made death vnto me? God forbid: but sinne, that it might appeare sinne, wrought death in me by that which is good, that sinne might be out of measure sinfull by the commandement.

¹ Now then there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Iesus, which walke not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

³ For (that that was impossible to ye Lawe, in as much as it was weake, because of ye flesh) God sending his owne Sonne, in ye similitude of sinful flesh, and for sinne, condened sinne in the flesh,

³⁰ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles which folowed not righteousnes, haue attained vnto righteousnes, euen the righteousnes which is of faith. ³¹ But Israel which followed the Lawe of righteousnes, could not arteine vnto the Law of righteousnes. ³² Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the workes of the Lawe: for they haue stumbled at the stumbling stone,

¹ Brethren, mine hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saued. ² For I beare them record, that they haue the zeale of God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For they, being ignorant of the righteousnes of God, and going about to stablish their owne righteousnes, haue not submitted themselues to the righteousnes of God. ⁴ For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousnes vnto euery one that beleeueth. ⁵ For Moses thus describeth the righteousnes which is of the Lawe, That the man which doeth these things, shall liue thereby. ⁶ But the righteousnes which is of faith, speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heauen? (that is to bring Christ from aboue)

¹⁰ For with the heart man beleeueth vnto righteousnes, and with the mouth man confesseth to saluation.

⁷ Salute Andronicus and Iunia my cousins and fellowe prisoners, which are notable among the Apostles, and were in Christ before me.

³⁰ But ye are of him in Christ Iesus, who of God is made vnto vs wisedome and righteousnesse, and sanctification, and redemption,

¹⁷ Therefore if any man be in Christ, let him be a newe creature. Olde things are passed away: beholde, all things are become newe.

²¹ For he hath made him to be sinne for vs, which knewe no sinne, that we should be made the righteousnesse of God in him.

¹⁶ Knowe that a man is not iustified by the works of the Law, but by ye faith of Iesus Christ, euen we, I say, haue beleeued in Iesus Christ, that we might be iustified by the faith of Christ, and not by the workes of the Lawe, because that by the workes of the Lawe, no flesh shalbe iustified.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the workes of the Lawe, are vnder the curse: for it is written, Cursed is euery man that continueth not in all things, which are written in the booke of the Law, to doe them. ¹¹ And that no man is iustified by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by faith. ¹² And the Lawe is not of faith: but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them. ¹³ Christ hath redeemed vs from the curse of the Lawe, made a curse for vs, (for it is written, Cursed is euery one that hangeth on tree)

²¹ Is the Lawe then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had bene a Lawe giuen which coulde haue giuen life, surely righteousnes should haue bene by the Lawe. ²² But the Scripture hath concluded all vnder sinne, that the promise by the faith of Iesus Christ should be giuen to them that beleeue.

⁶ Concerning zeale, I persecuted ye Church: touching the righteousnesse which is in the Law, I was vnrebukeable.

⁹ Who hath saued vs, and called vs with an holy calling, not according to our workes, but according to his owne purpose and grace, which was giuen to vs through Christ Iesus before the world was,

⁵ Not by the woorkes of righteousnesse, which we had done, but according to his mercie he saued vs, by the washing of the newe birth, and the renewing of the holy Ghost,

¹⁸ That by two immutable things, wherein it is vnpossible that God should lye, we might haue strong consolation, which haue our refuge to lay holde vpon that hope that is set before vs,

⁹ But if yee regarde the persons, yee commit sinne, and are rebuked of the Lawe, as transgressours. ¹⁰ For whosoeuer shall keepe the whole Lawe, and yet faileth in one poynt, hee is guiltie of all. ¹¹ For he that saide, Thou shalt not commit adulterie, saide also, Thou shalt not kill. Nowe though thou doest none adulterie, yet if thou killest, thou art a transgressour of the Lawe.

² For in many things we sinne all. If any man sinne not in word, he is a perfect man, and able to bridle all the body.

¹⁹ By the which hee also went, and preached vnto the spirits that are in prison. ²⁰ Which were in time passed disobedient, when once the long suffering of God abode in the dayes of Noe, while the Arke was preparing, wherein fewe, that is, eight soules were saued in the water.

¹ Simon Peter a seruant and an Apostle of Iesus Christ, to you which haue obteined like precious faith with vs by the righteousnesse of our God and Sauiour Iesus Christ:

⁸ If we say that we haue no sinne, we deceiue our selues, and trueth is not in vs. ⁹ If we acknowledge our sinnes, he is faithfull and iust, to forgiue vs our sinnes, and to clense vs from all vnrighteousnes. ¹⁰ If wee say we haue not sinned, wee make him a liar, and his word is not in vs.

⁴ Whosoeuer committeth sinne, transgresseth also the Law: for sinne is the transgression of the Lawe.
