⁷ And beholde, the whole familie is risen against thine handmayde, and they sayde, Deliuer him that smote his brother, that we may kill him for the soule of his brother whome hee slewe, that we may destroy the heire also: so they shall quenche my sparkle which is left, and shall not leaue to mine husband neither name nor posteritie vpon the earth.

²⁸ Then tidings came to Ioab: (for Ioab had turned after Adoniiah, but he turned not after Absalom) and Ioab fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold on the hornes of the altar. ²⁹ And it was tolde king Salomon, that Ioab was fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and beholde, he is by the altar. Then Salomon sent Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, saying, Goe, fall vpon him. ³⁰ And Benaiah came to the Tabernacle of the Lord, and sayd vnto him, Thus sayth the King, Come out. And he sayde, Nay, but I will die here. Then Benaiah brought the King worde againe, saying, Thus sayd Ioab, and thus he answered me. ³¹ And the King sayde vnto him, Doe as he hath sayd, and smite him, and bury him, that thou mayest take away the blood, which Ioab shed causelesse, from me and from the house of my father.

¹⁴ For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.

⁹ The Lord also wil be a refuge for the poore, a refuge in due time, euen in affliction.

⁷ His mouth is full of cursing and deceite and fraude: vnder his tongue is mischiefe and iniquitie. ⁸ He lieth in waite in the villages: in the secret places doeth hee murder the innocent: his eyes are bent against the poore. ⁹ He lyeth in waite secretly, euen as a lyon in his denne: he lyeth in waite to spoyle the poore: he doeth spoyle the poore, when he draweth him into his net. ¹⁰ He croucheth and boweth: therefore heaps of the poore doe fall by his might.

⁷ For without cause they haue hid the pit and their net for me: without cause haue they digged a pit for my soule. ⁸ Let destruction come vpon him at vnwares, and let his net, that he hath laid priuilie, take him: let him fall into the same destruction.

¹⁴ Deliuer me from blood, O God, which art the God of my saluation, and my tongue shall sing ioyfully of thy righteousnes.

⁴ My soule is among lions: I lie among the children of men, that are set on fire: whose teeth are speares and arrowes, and their tongue a sharpe sworde. ⁵ Exalt thy selfe, O God, aboue the heauen, and let thy glory be vpon all the earth. ⁶ They haue layd a net for my steps: my soule is pressed downe: they haue digged a pit before me, and are fallen into the mids of it. Selah.

⁷ In God is my saluation and my glory, the rocke of my strength: in God is my trust. ⁸ Trust in him alway, ye people: powre out your hearts before him, for God is our hope. Selah.

³¹ So then ye be witnesses vnto your selues, that ye are the children of them that murthered the Prophets. ³² Fulfill ye also ye measure of your fathers. ³³ O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell! ³⁴ Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie, ³⁵ That vpon you may come all the righteous blood that was shed vpon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, vnto the blood of Zacharias the sonne of Barachias, whome ye slewe betweene the Temple and the altar.

¹⁹ Therefore Herodias layd waite against him, and would haue killed him, but she could not:

²⁴ So she went forth, and said to her mother, What shall I aske? And she said, Iohn Baptists head. ²⁵ Then she came in straightway with haste vnto the King, and asked, saying, I would that thou shouldest giue me euen now in a charger the head of Iohn Baptist. ²⁶ Then the King was very sory: yet for his othes sake, and for their sakes which sate at table with him, he would not refuse her.

⁵¹ Doth our Law iudge a man before it heare him, and knowe what he hath done?

⁴ Abide in me, and I in you: as the branche cannot beare fruite of it selfe, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵ I am that vine: ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruite: for without me can ye doe nothing. ⁶ If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branche, and withereth: and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they burne.

¹² Neither is there saluation in any other: for among men there is giuen none other Name vnder heauen, whereby we must be saued.

²³ Who when he was come and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue in the Lord.

²⁴ And are iustified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Iesus, ²⁵ Whom God hath set forth to be a reconciliation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousnes, by the forgiuenesse of the sinnes that are passed, ²⁶ Through the patience of God, to shewe at this time his righteousnesse, that hee might be iust, and a iustifier of him which is of the faith of Iesus.

For our sakes no doubt it is written, that he which eareth, should eare in hope, and that he that thresheth in hope, should be partaker of his hope. ¹¹ If wee haue sowen vnto you spirituall thinges, is it a great thing if we reape your carnall thinges? ¹² If others with you bee partakers of this power, are not we rather? neuerthelesse, we haue not vsed this power: but suffer all things, that we should not hinder the Gospel of Christ. ¹³ Doe ye not knowe, that they which minister about the holy things, eate of the things of the Temple? and they which waite at the altar, are partakers with the altar? ¹⁴ So also hath the Lord ordeined, that they which preach ye Gospel, should liue of the Gospel.

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the Temple of God with idols? for ye are the Temple of the liuing God: as God hath said, I will dwell among them, and walke there: and I will be their God, and they shalbe my people. ¹⁷ Wherefore come out from among them, and separate your selues, saith the Lord, and touch none vncleane thing, and I wil receiue you.

¹³ Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieued: But vpon like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lacke: ¹⁴ That also their aboundance may bee for your lacke, that there may be equalitie:

²⁸ There is neither Iewe nor Grecian: there is neither bonde nor free: there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Iesus.

¹⁸ That by two immutable things, wherein it is vnpossible that God should lye, we might haue strong consolation, which haue our refuge to lay holde vpon that hope that is set before vs,

²⁵ Wherefore, hee is able also perfectly to saue them that come vnto God by him, seeing he euer liueth, to make intercession for them. ²⁶ For such an hie Priest it became vs to haue, which is holy, harmelesse, vndefiled, separate from sinners, and made hier then the heauens: ²⁷ Which needeth not daily as those hie Priests to offer vp sacrifice, first for his owne sinnes, and then for the peoples: for that did he once, when he offered vp himselfe. ²⁸ For the Law maketh men hie Priestes, which haue infirmitie: but the word of the othe that was since the Lawe, maketh the Sonne, who is consecrated for euermore.
